Had one night stay at Sedgefield travelodge recently. Good value for a saturday night. Nothing special but ok for overnight stay. Comfortable & clean. Biggest downside is there are no close eating facilities. A breakfast box is offered at a cost but nowhere near for other meals.

We checked in and went to our first room.. to find that it had not been cleaned. We made a complaint and the member of staff happily moved us to our second room - we get there and the lights don't work, after complaining again we get moved to our third room... third time lucky? Not in the slightest.. by... More

Generally a good experience, our room was clean and tidy with clean bedding. The staff were very friendly and helpful. My partner is disabled and found the disabled access bathroom could have been better laid out with regard to the grab handles and a wet floor shower with seat would have been better than a bath, this is not a complaint... We walked through the entrance door of this hotel to be met by a very untidy reception area. When we got to our room it was grim and grubby. The bathroom ceiling had mould all over it and there was 1 towel for 2 people. We immediately asked for another room and more towels. This must happen all the time... More

For a short answer the place is dirty and a joke. For the long answer see below If I'm being honest I don't even know where to begin with my review about my recent stay at your Sedgefield hotel. First impressions of the hotel were not good, which isn't obvious where it is as it sits in darkness with no... More

Had booked to stay here following a night at Whitemare Pool. Was debating whether to just miss it (even though it was paid for etc) and just drive home after the horrendous night at Whitemare Pool (newcastle) but decided to at least check in and have a chat with the reception staff. They were very helpful, and apologised after I... More

Just got back from a 3 night stay at this Travelodge. We usually stay at Premier inns but the prices have become prohibitive. Total cost for us for 3 nights only £84 which is excellent value. The room was clean, tidy very spacious and warm. All facilities worked flawlessly and the staff were both friendly and helpful. Yes the Little... More

Just returned from a quick weekend to visit family in Newton Aycliffe and was really disappointed. I've stayed in many a Travelodge before...so I know what to expect, but this one fall well below the standard. We certainly won't be staying there again. We arrived late, having booked for a family of four, to discover that there was only bedding... More

Stayed on 15/02/14 together with four friends having spent a great day out at The Shildon Loco Museum. All Staff were very polite and extremely friendly each room being basic but very clean and comfortable. At £38 per Double room with Single occupancy this is great value. Well done Travelodge will definitely stay again.

Stayed at this hotel after a friends wedding nearby. Staff were nice and friendly but the hotel stunk of damp it was all you could smell all four of our party left the following day with spots! I think travelodge standards are definately slipping nowadays you dont even get what you pay for we wont be returning.
