the team at the Sedgefield Travel Lodge were well informed, trained and very welcoming. Alyson was particularly welcoming and recommended restaurants for dinner in the village including the amazing Dunn Cow and the Italian which we ate at. The Travelodge is near to Sainsbury's and a lovely co-op

I chose this hotel due to its proximity to Wynyard Hall which we visited for a wedding. I arrived before midday but (having called a couple of days earlier) the friendly receptionist had a room ready and did not charge the additional fee stated on the hotel's website. My double room was basically furnished and large in size. There was... More

Pretty standard Travelodge room, though missing a settee, so nowhere to comfortably sit. TV was very temperamental. Main issue was noise from a plant room outside the room, which kept me awake most of the night: seemed to be a pump kicking in and out all night at random times for random durations. Then the traffic noise started at about... More

On arrival very late we got our room, just went straight to sleep, the room was smelly we opened the windows which made it better, next morning we saw mood growing in the corner if the room and when I went to sit on the chair it was all ripped thus cut all my legs at the back, told receptionist... Having stayed at Travelodge hotels before I expected a clean room, which catered for my basic needs, the room was dirty, the carpet stained, the kettle so dirty it was unusable, the plastic cups provided were used and dirty, the walls chipped, the lampshade by the bed broken. Upon booking I was given a discount code for a future stay... More

This hotel does exactly what it says on the tin. Peter the hotels manager is excellent. Made the stay a great one from start to finish. We were a pretty awkward group but Peter and his team went the extra mile and out of their way to make our stay a great one. The room was clean and bed was... More

We were at a wedding at Hardwick Hall so drove to the wedding 1 mile away and got a taxi back we had two family rooms a double and two singles which was ideal it cost £100 for both rooms, the taxi back after 12 cost £14.00 for 6 persons. Comfortable bed and clean room would highly recommend.

Broken fixtures (wall sockets, bathroom taps, extractor fan which was full of mould). But being woken up at 6am by screaming kids (and adults) isn't the way I intended to get up. The hotel had no control over guests or care for their other guests. I couldn't even complain in the morning as there were no staff we could find... More
