I stayed at The Swallow in Stockton on a business trip in June. It is easy to dwell on the negatives so I will! The car park was like driving into Beirut, but that may have been because of building work... a large multi-storey with a connecting corridor to the hotel, no security that I could see so lucky I... more

We made a last minute booking, based soley on location for the Stockton International Riverside Festival and feel we landed on our feet. The Hotel opens right onto Stockton High street, has free parking in Shopping centre multistorey and has almost immediate links to routes out of the town. I would recommend to book ahead online for best rates and... more

What a brilliant weekend. The food was out of this world and definate value for money. tThe food would grace any five star hotel. Stephen, Jonathan and Samanth in the restraunt were great, friendly and helpfull. The hallways were a little bit jaded, but the rooms were excellent. Three star hotel with five star food and service. more

On arrival at the hotel , which is no easy excercise having to firstly find the multi storey car park and then carry cases down four flights of stairs to reception - the first impression is tacky and generally well worn. The executive rooms are very basic, a double bed with two chairs - it certainly does not match the... more

Most of the reviews here agree that this place isn't great. The real issue is that those of us that have stayed at Swallow Hotels in the past assume that the remaining Swallows are operating to a similar standard. Unfortunately if the Stockton hotel is a typical example, this isn't the case and therefore people are likely to be disappointed.... more

Thank you for your feed back which we take seriously and as such please note my response. I understand your comments about the Swallow branding but rates wise we now compete with the value brands while still offering a leisure club , room service etc. which they do not. Breakfast was inconsistent which I apologise for .The workers you refer...

I nearly let the negative reviews here put me off this hotel. So glad I didn't. Warm and well-equipped with the nicest, friendliest staff throughout. Yes, the decor is a little jaded, particularly the bedrooms, but overall, this is a great place to stay. Great room rates through the hotel's own website. Good restaurant (unfortunately overpriced though) and lovely spa... more

A bit drab and outdated. In desperate need of redecorating, a bit stuck in 1970,s at moment. Rooms adequate, but decor drab. Views overlooking multi storey car park depressing. Beds were comfortable, but housekeeping questionable. Bed sheets not even straightened. Bathroom ok, plenty of hot water, be careful of shower, water extremely hot, despite control. Noise at night and early... more

We were booked in here by a travel company for a weekend break - definitely not a place we would have chosen to stay in as it;s right in the centre of Stockton and is surrounded by pubs and nightclubs and there was a lot of noise(shouting, sirens etc) until 5am in the morning. Lots of rubbish outside the hotel. Reception... more

Thank you for taking the time to pass on your comments. I agree the noise can be an issue and I have taken this up with The Council, who are not prepared to act as they regard it as a non-residential.area. The rubbish is part of the shopping centres remit and I will pass your comments on to them. I sincerely...
