The Parkwood has just been renovated and this was our first visit since the works. What a difference. it just feels like a completely different place. We visited with friends and though there was an eightieth birthday party going on we were very well looked after indeed. We were advised that things would be a little slow but to be... More

Called in on a Friday afternoon for a couple of drinks, looks good as you go into the bar, but rest still looks unfinished. Only problem was some dirty tables and glasses left on tables. Husband impressed with beer selection. Would go again and try good next time.

As a regular to the Parkwood I welcome the refurbishment. Im sure James the new manager will take note of any constructive points and act if neccessary. What I have found echos other posts. The menu could do with a overhaul-even after only a few weeks. Ive dined a few times since re opening and mainly portion sizes variety of... More

Since the Parkwood reopened we have eaten there 3 times with very different experiences. The first time the food was nice and we were happy to return. the second time the same meal as previous was very poor. Last week 7 of us went for dinner. 2 meals were really poor. What was odd was that 2 people ordered the... More

Waited a long time for meal to arrive despite restaurant not being too busy! Food was ok, but no veg apart from peas, no potatoes other than chips or mash & mushrooms in pasta were dried and not properly rehydrated. NO MANAGEMENT to speak to to express views. Bar & restaurant staff were helpful but their response to negative comments... More

We visited before Christmas and we complained which we never normally do but out meal was not very good at all the service was very poor and we were generally very disappointed and felt out of pocket. However I don't think it's very nice for people to put bad reviews on trip advisor before giving people a chance to make... More

Busy pub with good atmosphere and modern, well furnished bedrooms. Very helpful staff (we had a booking mix-up which was not their fault, and they dealt with it calmly and without fuss) ,... and the place served food that was MUCH better than we had a right to expect. Definitely a place I'd happily return to.

Great service and food all rapped up with a reasonable price. Good premium largest on draft at sub £4, with a good range of hand pulls. We had the 3 course for £15 but 1 for £11 and 2 for £13.50 also available.

The room (no 1) was newly painted and mostly lovely. Room clean and think we must of been the first users. Bit of shoddy work in bathroom ceiling extractor fan but ok if you don't look up. Shower head stays upright once water pressure enough and tap turned on full. On arrival the reception desk is a bureau at the... More
