I went for Christmas fair lunch last week and was horrified at the terrible service provided. We were not greeted in anyway and had to find our own table, our lunch was disgusting, you needed a stake knife for the vegetables and the gravy was just like brown water. we waited around 25 minutes before we received our deserts. I... More

I did wonder about this hotel considering the reviews but I called the hotel and was informed there had been some management changes and the hotel was going through an upgrade. The location was perfect or me so I gave it a go. With very friendly staff and lovely food I was pleasantly surprised. There was no sign of the... More

we stayed here recently just after a management change over, considering previous comments, I can confirm the place was clean, tidy and very well presented. You can tell money is being spent on improving the building as a man had been there over the 2 days we were there doing loads of work. The new landlady said a lot of... More

A word of advice. Don't use this p[lace. It is filthy, it smells awful, it's falling down , it's expensive and the staff look like they have just walked off the set of the Walking Dead. How on earth this place is allowed to serve food is beyond me. Take a trip to the toilets at your peril. A lovely... More

So sorry for a bad review but I feel I need to be honest about my experience. I had chosen this place given its proximity to Stockton. Arrived and had to go into the pub to check-in. I wasn't really expecting this. No front desk or reception staff. Broken tiles along the main entrance. Pub/bar smelled and had a sticky... More

Went with parents and two small children, staff very welcoming, looked after us all, food was good value for money. Cannot fault the warmness and attention of staff. I lived in the area for 18 years and had never visted before, will go back again.

I'll start on a positive note by saying it really is a nice place to enjoy a drink in the sun out the backyard during the summer. However, having visited this occasionally throughout the years I regret to say I've never enjoyed the food, but my most recent visit was absolutely awful. I ordered a steak pie and to be... More

We've dined at the Parkwood on the odd occasion over many years when we've been passing and have had experiences varying from below average to very good. The family meal today was very good so praise where it's deserved. The food was of good quality, plentiful and reasonably priced. The Parkwood is set in it's own very lush grounds in... More

More of a basic B & B than a hotel and definitely not 3 star. No reception, no one to carry bags upstairs, mosaic tiled floor in hallway had bits if mosaic missing (dangerous if a heel was caught) small very dated bedroom (wallpaper curtains duvet all different patterns and colours). Light above basin mirror not working. No pillow protectors... More

Really enjoyed our meal recently. The food was really good, service good, and prices where good too. The toilets could do with a bit of refurbishment though. Will go again as it is ideal. Really enjoyed it.
