The people on here that write that this place is horrible must be very tight because the price that you get a room here is brilliant! They are clean, quiet and have everything you need. We went there one weekend to go to Alton Towers and had such a laugh and good time in the restaurant and bar. There wasnt... more

Well... on arrival, you wasn't welcomed by anyone, just a phone that you had to ring to get a person to reception, eventually someone turned up and was very rude. The room, where do i start... The shower curtain had mould on the bottom of it, the decoration in the room needed re doing, the curtains in the room had... more

We have been to weathervane afew times and each time left happy customers. We got more then expected considering how much we paid. We paid 30 pounds for a fairly spacious, clean and quiet double en-suite room. The power shower was brill. There is also wireless internet access. The double bed was bouncy enough for me to throw my wife... more

We managed to book a twin room for £30 via a hotel website (not inc breakfast). At that price, this hotel is great value (although I wouldn't want to have paid much more). The rooms are simple and plain, reasonably clean and spacious. I would describe the room as a very similar standard to, say, a Travelodge. Not the last... more

Stayed last August and it was great. Stayed again May 2009 and again it was very good for the price. Rooms were clean and comfortable and well sized. No remote for the TV but that was not the end of the world. Food service at the Hungary Horse pub next door was not as good this time. Still ok but... more

We stayed here last weekend and were extremely disappointed. The rooms were grimy, bathroom had mould and the beds only had a thin sheet covering a rather grimy mattress. Sound proofing was dismal. We were kept awake until 4am by a couple bonking in the room above us. There was no one at reception during the night and the contact... more

Have stayed in this hotel several times before when visiting Alton Towers, mainly because it is cheap and cheerful, but this time I think will be my last. If you book via the hotel website you will pay £50 a night for a room. I managed to pay £35 by searching through other websites. The hotel is situated just off... more

We read the reviews given on this site and decided to give it a go anyway as it is close to Alton Towers. Although we only stayed one night it was a saturday. We arrived and although there was no-one on reception, (it was 9.40 at night) I went through to the bar and asked someone and the manager was... more

Stayed here a few years back 8 I think, so decided to book to stay here again as the hotel was quite nice 8 years ago. We used thishotel as a base for ALTON TOWERS & DRAYTON MANOR. On arrival at the hotel we were given our room key (FAMILY ROOM), went to our allocated room and there was a... more

Stayed for 7 nights, and after mixed reviews, was nervous, however was pleasently surprised. The hotel was what was expected, staff were friendly, although rarely around. Room was large, kept clean, and comfortable. Only complaint about the room was that the bathroom doors lock was broken, and toilet tissue was stuffed into the hole. Restaurant was also nice. Hotel was... more
