The room was small, the air conditioner was more like a fan heater and a noisy one at that - it was impossible to get the shower teperature right it was literally either hot or cold. All of this may have just been exlusive to room 229. Worst hotel expereince for many many years - a slight and blemish on... more

Thank you for taking the time to write a review of your recent visit to the hotel. I am surprised to learn that your stay at the Express by Holiday Inn, Stoke on Trent was one of the worst hotel visits that you have recently experienced. Whilst I acknowledge that our bedrooms are not the same size as may be...

Hotel is in a good location for a trip to Alton Towers. Hotel is also close to amenities in Stoke such as Trentham Gardens + Monkey Forest and Festival Park. Harvester located next door. Rooms are ok, quite basic and showing age. There were also stains on the floor and walls (the usual things for budget hotels). Breakfast can get... more

We stayed here on a stop over to alton towers. It was one of the cheapest places around. We had a family room, which was clean and comfortable. Checking in was fast as was checking out. Staff were friendly. There was a harvester like pub next door and a chinese resturant about 5 minutes walk. The food there was great. The... more

Paid for a family room only to be given a room which had not been cleaned! It was pokey and small, the bed had black hairs on it, pillow was covered in ribena stains. Cups left in sink after being used. Complained and reception staff excellent understanding and quick. Moved to new room however spoiled overall stay. STayed the following... more

Whilst there is no excuse for a guest being provided with a dirty room, in this instance this was a result of the housekeeping team omitting to clean a room after the previous guest had departed. I understand that it would be most distressing for this guest to enter the room, but as he commented this was resolved swiftly and...

Stayed here for 1 night for a trip to Alton Towers. The room was clean and the bathroom was lovely. Check in was quick and easy and the reception staff were friendly and very helpful. The breakfast was self service continental and my only complaint was that the toaster took too long! more

We were impressed with this hotel especially as we got a good deal 3 nights for 2, we took our 4 and 5 year old with us. The rooms aern't especially big, but include a tv and nice bathroom. The hotel reception was very nice, bright and airy, the staff very friendly. You can order takeaway as they don't have... more

We stayed here as part of a trip to Alton Towers. The hotel has a good location and the price was very reasonable. However, we had three rooms booked and one of the rooms/beds obviously had 'creatures' living in it as on return we have LOTS of bites; pretty disgusting. The breakfast was convenient but i wouldn't suggest going to... more

I am most surprised to read that guests were "bitten" whilst staying in any of our modern, clean and recently refurbished bedrooms. I would like to reassure all guests (and prospective visitors to the Express by Holiday Inn, Stoke on Trent) that we do have a pro-active approach to pest preventation/control and that full premises visits do take place an average...

This hotel is everything I have come to expect from Holiday Inn Express. thie rooms are clean and tidy, reception staff are friendly and helpful, breakfast is good. I was there during the snow storms and the room was a little cold, an extra duvet solved that problem. It is directly opposite the Britannia Football Stadium so good for fans.... more

My sister & I stayed here having travelled to Stoke for a northern soul all-nighter. The room was very comfortable and very clean. The only problem for us was that our stay clashed with the Stoke / Pommey football match! So securing a parking space was an issue and the Harvester next door did not serve food after 3pm on... more

Loved it; we visit this hotel as part of a business trip and we loved it. Perfect location close to Fenton where we had the business event. Quiet. Staff- 100% nice and welcoming; they even let us mess about with the TV in the main lounge. Parking free for guests. TV - Sky live in the lounge, cheap wi-fi (4... more
