We booked to stay here as we were doing a trip to Alton Towers. It was a long journey after being stuck on the M6 for over 2 hours in the raging heat of 32 degrees. We arrived to a lovely cool hotel. Bar and reception close together. Check in was smooth and fast, Hubby went to reception to get... more

Stayed at Holiday Inn Express Stafford for 4 nights. Alton Towers and other tourist attractions. Had a great stay! Extremely helpful/friendly staff. Room was better than expected (even though it was quite neat with a double bed and sofa bed). The room had freeview which the kids enjoyed for cbeebies and we brought our own DVD player along with us.... more

My husband and I stayed for one night and found it to be excellent value. Couldn't fault it for a friendly, efficient service. Room/bathroom were immaculately clean. All in all very comfortable and we found the bar area very relaxing after a long journey. Continental style breakfast included in the price and this was more than sufficient to see us... more

Stopped one night, on business trip to Telford. Telford fully booked! Reception friendly and efficient, happy to answer questions from a first-time resident! Room reasonable size, double plus sofa-bed. Might prove cramped with four-up! Good TV with c14xTV channels, sorry forgot to count! Shower-only bathroom, with interesting arrangement for door which locked whole bathroom or just toilet if basin/shower access... more

We just needed somewhere near the M6 in the midlands for one night on our way north - this Holiday Inn Express more than served our needs. We arrived late, got checked in without fuss and found a clean, well equipped room with all that we needed. The bed was perfectly comfortable, shower was spacious with plenty of hot water... more

Originally found this little gem while exploring possible places to stay for a couple of nights in the north Midlands. Alton Towers deals looked particularly attractive. Abandoned that idea but still needed family stop-off point between NE Scotland and Cornwall. And with the offer of a "leisure break" deal of £40 for the four of us including breakfast, just too... more

stayed at the hotel for two nights with my husband as a stop off for alton towers. although it took us longer to get to the theme park than we orginally thought - journey was 45mins, not too bad. we found the hotel staff friendly and welcoming, the rooms very comfortable and clean, great shower! breakfast basic but we know... more

Stayed here on a Friday night. It was OK, but not brilliant. The rooms are looking a little tired, but are very clean and the beds comfortable. The restuarant 241 over the car park was good value but service was dreadfully slow due to chronic undermanning. Service in the hotel was OK but not anything like as good as Inverness.... more
