I went to my favourite nieces wedding there, and we had an excellent day. The staff operated like a well oiled machine when they served the food at the wedding breakfastbut they were also very thoughtful and kind.. my niece could not have picked a better venue for her wedding

My daughter celebrated her wedding there , and I spent a night there. The most fantastic place for a special celebration, and the overnight stay was very good. The Staff were so attentive and kind, and went out of their way to make sure the newlyweds had a wonderful day. .

I stayed at Swinfen Hall earlier this week when on business in the Midlands. The place oozes quality and is backed up by fantastic service, excellent food, wonderful rooms and stunning surroundings. Nothing was too much trouble for all the staff who took the extra mile in their stride!

My husband and I have just returned home from a 2 night stay at the Swinfen Hall Hotel, a birthday treat from my husband. (27 - 28 March 2014). We have stayed at many 5 star hotels and the majority are wonderful but Swinfen Hall stood out for its welcoming atmosphere and friendly staff, there is just a lovely homely... More

A recent two night stay at Swinfen Hall was a most pleasant experience. The house itself is most impressive and has been tastefully restored. The gardens/grounds are beautiful, are well maintained and a joy to wander round. We ate in the Four Seasons restaurant the first night we were there and had an excellent gourmet meal beautifully served. The second... More

We recently spent a few days at Swinfen Hall. The whole experience was fantastic. The service was impeccable - all the staff were professional, helpful and friendly. The breakfast, dinner and cream teas were all superb. We will be recommending this lovely hotel to all our friends and hopefully we will be returning.

We recently spent two nights at Swinfen Hall and would rate it very highly. The first impression is of the staff as you check in. Everyone is very friendly and utterly helpful. Nothing is too much trouble. The room we stayed in was gorgeous. We say the best hotel we have stayed in was a Waldolf Astoria property, but this... More

My wife and I visited Swinfen hall for a Champagne Tea on our Golden Anniversary and it was a delightful experience. We were shown straight to our table on arrival in a delightful room overlooking some of the grounds. A choice of tea or coffee (or in my case a soft drink). A plentiful supply of fresh, but rather unimaginative... More

Looking for a quiet stopover to break my North/South business trip I booked a room for one night at the last minute. The hotel is in a very quiet area surrounded by parkland and as you approach on the drive the 'wow' factor kicks in, this is more Downton Manor than a hotel. The inside doesn't disappoint with beautiful public... More

Just got back from a two night stay at Swinfen Hall. First impressions going up the drive to this hotel was "impressive". We were not dissapointed. First of all, do not take any notice of any review saying that the staff are no good. THEY ARE EXCELLENT !!! Nothing was too much trouble and they were very helpful indeed. We... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel):
Swinfen Hall Hotel is a beautiful Georgian manor house set in 100 acres of parkland incorporating formal gardens, a private deer park, wild hay meadows and woodland. Although the hotel has been described as 'an architectural gem' and is blessed with a wealth of historic features, we also embrace the creature comforts of the here and now. Flatscreen TVs, DVD players, IPOD docking stations and free wi-fi are standard in all our bedrooms alongside bathrobes, mineral water, a good selection of guest amenities and a well-stocked hospitality tray. In addition to our AA 2-rosette Four Seasons restaurant which is open for lunch and dinner, we have a Bar and Terrace menu for light snacks and offer a delicious traditional Afternoon Tea. We also have a magnificent oak-paneled Edwardian ballroom with a raised stage and fully-sprung dance floor, which is a wonderful venue for wedding receptions, presentations and private parties. We are proud to be an AA Inspectors Choice Red Star hotel - come and visit us and see what this means. Our little oasis of peace and calm lies on the A38, two miles south of the historic city of Lichfield, ½ a mile from the M6 toll road and only 20 minutes from the heart of Birmingham. ... more   less
