We stayed at this hotel as a jump off point for the National Memorial Arboretum. Original stay for three days liked it so much extended for another three days. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Meals were excellent. The chef cooked everything perfectly. Lay out of meals would do justice to any top restaurant in London. Portions were more... More

We booked 2 rooms and upgraded to superior rooms. The hotel is really nice, and the rooms we had were massive. It also has a great bar area for the night. Parked the car at the rear in a safe car park. Breakfast was also very good, no complaints at all, staff could not do enough - really friendly. We... More

Stayed at the hotel as we was staying over after a friends wedding on Saturday 22nd August. The hotel was very accommodating, allowing an early check-in of 11am unlike one of the major chain hotels near by. I had booked a premiere double, but the hotel contacted to say that they didn't have these rooms available, unfortunately booking.com hadn't updated... More

We booked into Cathedral Lodge at short notice and it served its purpose for a couple of days. We were not expecting 5* and the decoration was not modern but then I wasn't living there for anything other than a couple of nights! I agree with a previous reviewer's comment regarding the reception area which was a squeeze and being... More

The only redeeming feature of this hotel was the staff which the owner did not deserve. Hotel shabby, food disgusting _ so bad we went to a hotel down the road for our evening meal one night. Not the others unfortunately as we were with a coach trip. Asked to speak to the manager or owner several times but he... More

Thank you for your review, I am very surprised to see your comments about your stay. One of my staff went out of their way to get a new plug for the sink which was in fact found in the bathroom cabinet. I was not made aware of problems with the showers over that weekend and no other complaints from... More

A 5 minute walk down the hill and you're in the cathedral. Friendly staff deserve a mention. The Reception is, well, odd. It's squeezed into what should be an entrance hall, meaning that you won't get past it if there's someone with luggage checking in. Why they don't just use the bar is a mystery. There's no lift (beware if... More

The FREE welcoming drink was either cold water or weak orange juice! The hotel was in need of updating the room was meant to be a twin room but was small and at the front over looking the main road as there was no air conditioning we either had to have the window open and a noisy road or window... I have to start by commenting on the cheerful, smiling, eager to please, staff. They clearly enjoy working here and are chatty and helpful without being intrusive. Our room was well equipped with the usual accoutrements for coffee and tea making. Bottles of spring water were an added bonus. There are one or two slight niggles - one of the... More

As with another reviewer we rebooked direct with the hotel and got a better room and breakfast included. Very conveniently situated a few minutes walk from the centre of Lichfield. Car parking available on site. Friendly staff but no lift and it is better top get a room at the rear of the hotel as the front faces a road... More
