Wonderful hotel, grade listed property which has undergone a lot of very sensitive restoration. Beautiful features, interesting attention to detail throughout and in everything from soft furnishings, to art work and little touches such as what we think were fresh, home-made biscuits in the room. Very comfy bed. Our bathroom was separate to the bedroom but only 2 steps away... More

St. Johns House is a small family run hotel with a great deal of charm and character. The owners have avoiding trying to turn it into a ' boutique ' hotel ( one of the most abused words in the hotel business ) but instead concentrated on providing a modern, stylish and comfortable setting in a classic building.

Our Regency Themed weekend in Lichfield was a total success and the food and staff at St Johns House added to it. We were put onto a lovely lady for a tour of the city too, a very interesting hour and a half. The staff were a pleasure to be in company of and the management know what they are... More

We had a large well appointed room on the ground floor of the beautifully renovated stable. We also had access to our own patio and garden. Plenty of off street parking. The staff were very friendly and helpful and served an excellent selection of fruit, cereals and hot breakfast. Lichfield itself was very surprising especially its variety of shops and... More

Great 3 night stay here, the room was spacious and comfortable, the bathroom was glam (especially liked the heated mirror!), the welcome was warm and the breakfasts were wonderful. Dan and Ellie have done a great job in renovating this place to a very high standard.

This is a very nice house.. It has very well designed and decorated rooms. You really feel like at home in this place and this makes a real difference with these business hotels. Breakfast is simply the best quality you can expect... The only missing thing is no restaurant.. It is indeed a B&B but with such a quality breakfast,... More

Great old house. Very tight driveway to get into carpark, and the 'reception' sign could do with a light above it so as to be visible for those arriving at night. That, combined with the main rooms at the front being dark meant it wasn't very welcoming, until we reached the big smile at the front desk Room/bed huge and... More

We were only passing through but will probably return. This hotel in the heart of Lichfield is still a "work in progress" according to the owners but it was beautifully appointed with lots of original features reflecting its Grade 2 listed status. It is a short stroll from the centre of the city with numerous eating places close by. The... More

We were at an organised dinner - about 60 people - where everyone had pre-ordered. There didn't seem to be enough waiters and / or problems in the kitchen as the main course took 45 + minutes to be served. As there is very little ventilation in the room it soon became unbearably hot - as it did last year!... More

Very disappointed to hear your views of your evening at St Johns on Saturday night for the Friends of the Garrick Dinner particularly having received the email below from the organiser of the event Norma Hooper just yesterday: Hi Dan I have been asked by all of our guests to send you a big 'thank you' for making the annual... Booked a 1 night stay as part of a kid free weekend and we found this to be a fab hotel... We had the Peake room in the stable block which retained its charm with wooden beams etc while also offering luxury bedding, beautiful decor, and modern bathroom which had an amazing shower! . I can't fault it at all.... More
