We have stayed often in and around Wells in very mediocre establishments, but this one was a real hit! If you want to feel like you are staying in someone's gorgeous historical country home, other than in a boring hotel - then this is the place. Fabulous room with four poster bed, cosy antique furniture, tea and home made cake... More

This lovely Bed and breakfast was made all the better by the ever thoughtful Hollie. It is truly a magnificent and unique b and b. Converted over the years from a large family home, it boasts 13 bedrooms over 3 floors. Both the drawing room and bar room boast fireplaces and are filled with antiques as is the entire house.... My daughter and I have just returned from two nights at the Beryl, we both enjoyed our stay as we were made to feel like guests at a country house. The twin room was very nice with comfortable beds and spotlessly clean. We like the breakfasts too as there was plenty of choice, I particularly enjoyed the smoked salmon, scrambled... More

Stayed only one night as a Birthday weekend treat. Fantastic setting, very warm friendly welcome with tea and homemade cake! The house is full of interesting architecture, furniture and antiques. It feels like staying in someones home but a very beautiful one. A small glimpse into a different world that you soon feel a part of. If you hate the... More

We stayed here on Saturday 4th October for one night and were really pleased with the house, it's ambiance and the way Holly and her family look after you. We stayed in the room entitled 'Winter' and it was a really nice room with everything you would need for a stay. We wished we had booked for longer and will... More

We had a two night stay and I wish it was longer. The house is beautifully done with lovely décor, antique furniture and very comfortable beds - a must for my arthritic spine! Don't be put off but the road leading up to it - the house is in lovely secluded grounds and gardens. The breakfast was excellent, served on... More

We stayed here for two nights. It is a fascinating gothic Victorian country house on the edge of Wells. Don't be put off by the approach - along a street of inter war council houses - once you pass up the long private drive you are in a different world - lovely woods, lawns and garden. The owner (a lady... More

My wife and I own a B&B in Vermont, and we are fussy people. It was clear to us from the moment we arrived at Beryl that we had found something very close to perfect. The architecture, furnishings, landscaping, setting and views were all wonderful, and our room was delightful. The English breakfasts were excellent. The bar was comfortable and... More
