Wells is a stunning town/city with lots of eating places and the Cathedral is stunning. We stayed in the annexe which was very quiet, room and clean. There is a very good car park (important in a city) and ate out for dinner. Breakfast was busy but efficient. Would stay again. more

Apart from the terrible small car park, and negotiating the sharp corners to get there, the hotel was one of nicest that we have stayed at. Our room was in the Coach house which was an annexe to the hotel. The room overlooked the High Street which could get a little noisy during the day, but it certainly was not... more

We went to this hotel last weekend for my birthday treat and really enjoyed the atmosphere and the fact that its so central to the shops and Cathedral , which is right opposite and can be seen from the bedrooms at the front of the hotel, we were at the back and above the kitchen which was quite noisy as... more

Stayed on the 5th September for 1 night full board. We were in room 5 which was dark and a bit dated. It was also cold with no option to turn heat up. There was a constant noise of people walking overhead. Food in the restaurant was very good and even catered for a wheat free diet including WF bread.... more

Not only at the center of this small village (technically a city but not really) but also with an amazing view of Wells Cathedral. The foyer is all dark oak, peaty fires and friendly service and the rooms are a good balance of rustic furnishings and modern comfort: although most will be used to bigger beds. For us, the big... more

We stayed here for 2 nights! It is in a lovely location in the heart of Wells. The car park is so small and be careful not to scrape your car on the wllls of it and beware tht it closes early. We returned at 11pm to find it was shut- I went into the hotel to ask the lady to... more

We have stayed here 4 times over the past 6 years. The hotel itself is very old & charming. The fire place is lovely on a cold winter's evening especially after a fantastically cooked 3 course dinner! Service is unobtrusive but freely available, the staff are friendly & helpful. We thoroughly recommend the four poster room with a direct view... more

My husband and I stayed for 1 night, it was our first night away on our own since the birth of our baby in Feb, so we wanted it to be special. I knew we booked too late to have a refurbished room but i wasn't expecting our room to be so awful (room 44). It was a deluxe room,... more

We stayed two nights in a four poster poster room which looks directly over the cathedral - one of the best views we've ever had from a hotel room. We were going to a wedding on the Saturday afternoon but had a lovely mooch round the very interesting market in the morning. While I was at the hairdresser my husband... more
