This is a great hotel for visiting Wells, close to the cathedral and Bishops palace and it has limited parking. We stayed in July 2014 and found it a nice place to stay..however we did experience endless banging of the pipes in our room.We were in the coachouse,I think it was room 65 and I have to say the constant... Thank you for taking the time to post your comments. I was sorry to hear that you experienced banging pipes in your room. A guest notified us of a similar problem a few weeks ago and we immediately reacted by checking all the plumbing. While there was no obvious problem, we took the opportunity to replace numerous valves and pipes.... More

I attended a wedding at the hotel and I was very impressed by the level of cleanliness of the hotel and it's facilities. We spent the majority of the day outside in the garden which was very comfortable. The food was very good and the menus looked good too. To add to this the staff were helpful and friendly although... Staying at this hotel for one night has restored my faith in guest inn type hotels in quaint towns. I very rarely give a 5* rating but this place definitely deserved it! First off, the Receptionist was super friendly and welcoming and got my colleague and I checked in swiftly with no hassle at all. I fell in love with... More

Our recent 2 night stay in the courtyard at the Swan was so relaxing we felt we'd been there for longer. We would have loved to stay on - the suite was so comfortable and quiet, we loved having our own kitchen and the breakfast was super. What made our stay really special though was the staff, who were friendly... More

We have just returned from spending 3 nights at The Swan (14th – 17th June) on a bed, breakfast and dinner rate. Check in was speedy and very efficient the gentleman on reception explained, about the hotel, Wi-Fi, restaurant and parking the car, which we had already found. (And yes it is a tight squeeze). Our room was on the... More

Took my elderly father to this hotel for a two day break. The staff were excellent and the small touches meant a lot such as my being offered an extra key for my father's room just in case. (He is 97!) My father had room 50 which had easy access with no stairs. Rooms were very good with large towels,... More

I stayed here whilst visiting family, and it's a surprise. Excellent value for what you'd ink would be the premium hotel in the centre of the city. The four poster bed and the amenities are great, and the cafe is a wonderful spot to enjoy the view of the cathedral. Visit in winter, and the log fire warms you all... More

Stayed here for two nights as we were travelling North from Dorset. Lovely village with interesting small shops and plenty of places to eat and drink. Our room was very nice, facing the road but with little overnight noise. Good facilities and clean. Internet was down when we originally booked but we negotiated a reasonable deal by phone. Breakfast OK... More

I have stayed at the Swan a few times over the last couple of years, but never before left a review. The hotel is lovely - the refurbished rooms are tasteful and the remaining rooms are still very comfortable. I have been luck enough to stay in the Cathedral Suite twice, which is beautiful with an amazing view of the... More
