Spent 2 nights booked at the last minute based on the proximity to the nature reserves for which the hotel provides a very central base. I too stayed in the Arthur 2 room in a "modern wing" but unlike the previous review did not find this too dark although there is only one small window and it was still very... More

Full of charm & character - loved the hosts Graham & Sue. Friendly and accomodating from the off: with Graham carrying heavy case, jovially serving drinks in his little nook bar & providing us with a bridge table, whilst Sue rustled us up a super home-cooked traditional English supper; followed in the morning by a hearty breakfast! The Arthur suite... More

We received a very warm welcome on arrival, but my heart sank when I saw the bedroom - Arthur 2 - which was in need of some serious TLC. It's quite a dark room anyway and having dark furnishings and decoration made it feel a bit grim, and it wasn't as clean as it could have been. The bathroom was... More

We stayed at Meare Manor Guest House for three nights during the Festival as we were working there. It is a beautiful building in a nice location. The hosts are lovely and very welcoming and attentive. The room was comfortable apart from the mattress, but this is personal choice. Road noise can be an issue for front facing rooms as... More

Beautiful place run by very nice people. We were lucky to get a room when our tent leaked at Glastonbury. Each night was like coming back home. We were made very welcomed and felt really looked after. The prices are very reasonable and I can't recommend this place highly enough. Nice setting for a romantic getaway as well. Thank you... More

This is a lovely manor house in a good setting close to Glastonbury, we were lucky to get a room as the festival was coming up and the price was reasonable and included breakfast, the hosts were very friendly and the breakfast hot and freshly prepared, a good variety, the only downside was the room, it was at the back... My daughter and I thoroughly enjoyed our visit to Meare Manor. The home has a great history, and is charmingly decorated. Graham was so helpful with ideas of where to visit. We ended up at Wells Cathedral and the Bishops House. Our room was small but so cute and very clean. Graham's wife made us dinner in their "restaurant/bar" and... More

We always welcome genuine reviews as they serve both to help travellers make an informed decision and help us to see what we could do better. Your review however is wholly inaccurate and is uncannily similar to the one you left for the hotel before here. If you are going to use cut & paste at least try and do... More

I'm really pleased that I found this small independent hotel - my stay was more comfortable and the service was better and more personal than a chain hotel. Comfortable and clean with good size rooms. The only small point I would mention that wasn't so great is the shower was poor, but having a bath instead is no hardship.

Stayed here for 3 nights over Easter Weekend. Beautiful building, big rooms with high ceilings and lots of character. Located in a small village, rural and quiet. The bed was extremely comfortable. Large bathroom with full size bath and electric shower over. Breakfast was delicious with plenty of choice. Sue was helpful in suggesting things to do locally. Great location... More
