The Meare Manor hotel is a strange mix of modern and traditional decor which was not unpleasant but did seem a little dated. The couple who own it are very kind and sweet, but did seem a little run off their feet at times. There were about 5 other couples staying at the same time as we did. We stayed... More

Popped in for breakfast with the family to celebrate my 62nd birthday. Graham and his wife were extremely helpful and the service was very good. Daughter and I had smoked haddock with poached eggs which was very yummy and wife and son in law had full breakfast, which they said was very satisfying ( mushrooms were perfect ). 5 year... More

I really only ask three things of a hotel: a good nights sleep, a good shower and a nice breakfast. Meare Manor is set in a small village and although it is on the main road, it is very quiet due to the modern double glazed windows. The internal soundproofing could do with improving, our first night was spoiled by... More

My cousin and I stayed here for 2nights Friday and Saturday. On first arriving we were thrown by its appearance. It is only just set back from the road and we did drive passed it. Once inside a feeling of peace and tranquility envelopes you. We stayed in the Monks room, which is a twin bedded room. It's small but... More

My wife and I stayed at the manor to visit the local bird reserves - which are amazing, We saw Bitterns (4) marsh harriers (3) cettis warbler (saw 1 heard loads) kingfishers, cuckoos, grebes, hobbies (loads) blackcaps, whitethroats plus loads of commoner birds. The manor was perfect, a bit old fashioned - but we like old fashioned. Great bed (make... More

What a great place to stay! This hotel has loads of character and hosts Sue and Graham are warm and welcoming. Rooms are clean, tidy and beds comfy. We had a nice outside patio area. Perfect for a wine in the evening or morning cuppa. Sue cooked us an evening meal and all were happy with their meals. Scampi and... More

Travelled for years and stayed at many places but Meare Manor is in my top 3. Comfortable clean fresh beautiful and the breakfast was second to none. The hosts were the most accommodating people I have met in a long time. Friendly relaxed and helped in every way they could. This hospitality is hard to find sometimes but we found... More

Very pleased with this place, great welcome from the owners and shown where are room was, very quiet and nice large rooms, comfortable beds, great coffee and tea facilities in the room too. Breakfast was fantastic much better than one of the cooperate hotels and cheaper. Looking forward to my next stay there.

We booked 2 nights at Meare Manor, late on Friday night to stay Saturday and Sunday night. Reasonably priced and we requested a few 'room extras' but weren't optimistic as it was such short notice. Arrived late on Saturday to find they had upgraded us from a Superior Room to a Luxury King room with 4 poster bed! They had... More
