The welcome by Susie was lovely, we felt at ease straight away. The double room was extremely spacious, with a very comfy bed and the view from the window of the castle was beautiful. Breakfast was excellent; fresh fruit, cereal and a fantastic full english, cooked by Robert. We only stayed the one night but will definitely return. Thank you... More

Smashing couple and a lovely house situated in a peaceful country setting.Made to feel very welcome and only a few minutes walk from the main town/castle etc. Rob gave us some great tips where to visit/eat out, great ambassadors for the area.

We stayed there for three nights because our usual B & B could not accommodate us. From the moment we arrived we were made so welcome. Our room was large and comfortable, with views across the valley to the famous Dunster castle. The breakfasts were superb with everything a full English could offer. Robert was the 'short-order chef' and Susie... More

My friend and I stayed for three nights and we had a fantastic time.... nothing was too much trouble for Susie and Robert, and we shared a lot of fun and friendly 'banter'.... Robert had even cleared the garage so that we were able to park our motor bikes out of the rain and on the 'flat'.... breakfast was excellent... More

A delightful house in an excellent location. Our en-suite room was very comfortable, well-equipped, and clean. Robert and Susie were welcoming, obliging, and very cheerful hosts. We thoroughly enjoyed our two-night stay with them

We spent one night at Butter Cross B&B at the beginning of a week's trip to Somerset, and absolutely LOVED it! We were with another couple, my brother and sister-in-law (there are two bedrooms, one en-suite, the other with a bathroom just across the hall) and were delighted with everything: the beds were VERY comfortable (always one of the most... We booked in for a one night stay, as we were attending a wedding in the village. We had the whole hotel to ourselves as Suzie was away. The room was a large, double aspect with lovely views of the gardens and of Dunster Castle, beds were comfy, i wont mention the avacado onsuite! But all in all very clean.... More

We booked one night at Buttercross as we were attending a wedding in the village. From initial contact and booking, to the stay itself, the whole experience was positive and pleasant, and we would strongly recommend this B&B to anyone looking for a quiet, tranquil base to explore the surrounding area. Susie and Robert Buck are excellent, charming hosts, friendly... More
