5 of 5 stars Reviewed yesterday NEW

Deep sigh missing The Stags head already, only arrived home yesterday (16.09.2014). The Stags Head is run by husband and wife team Terry and Denise, the warmth and friendship they shared with my hubby and myself for our short break made it the best trip I have had to date when staying in Dunster. Terry and Denise have a top... More

My pups and I have been here for lunch twice now, in 2013 and 2014 and we love it. We visit this area every year and are always looking for new and puppy friendly places visit. The lovely staff always make a fuss of the pups and both times they've come out with treats for them both. The atmosphere is... More

The welcome we received was warm and friendly, as was the atmosphere of the whole place 'Henry's' room was nicely decorated and the bed was really comfy. The food was excellent with friendly staff. If you need to know where to go on your journey Denise is the best tour guide we have come across, her advice was brilliant. Thanks... More

Been a couple of times now and every time I struck by the friendliness of the staff, top draw by all accounts. Ate off the lunch menu with was well varied and fresh. Very good, around the corner from the main stretch, make the effort, you won't regret it.

We could not have wished for nicer Landlords and staff. We turned up lateish and were fitted in and that was the best fitting in. The food was lovely they catered for my Grandchildren. Everything was relaxed welcoming and a thoroughly enjoyable experience. If to be completely picky the toilets could have done with a little attention but we were... More

We stayed at The Stags Head en route to Devon as we wanted to see Dunster Castle and enjoy a more relaxed journey to our main destination. The Inn and the surroundings compliment each other, both being relaxed and impressive to view. Tasty food, good beer, and a comfortable room, only slightly spoiled by the sound of the bin men... Thank you for your review, I'm glad you enjoyed your stay with us, even though it was only brief. It is a beautiful part of the country we are in, so hopefully we'll see you again when you have time to explore more of it! After reading your review, and particularly about the bin men turning up ridiculously early, I... More

9 August - Saturday night. All of us (four friends) were particularly impressed with the very friendly and attentive staff. This, together with the excellent food, made for for a truly relaxing and memorable evening. It was a bustling pub/restaurant without NO background music - Yippee!! Will definitely return J C D and A Carhampton

Stayed here for one night this week, two rooms (one for the children). We arrived and the Inn was closed, rang the bell and couldn't have received a warmer welcome. after exploring the beautiful castle and village of Dunster, we trawled the children back to the Stags and spent an hour in the gorgeous, relaxing beer garden. The rooms are... More
