We booked last minute for just a one night get away over the bank holiday. Can't fault it. Lovely room, enormous bed. All very clean and comfortable. The lady who checked us in could not do enough - really nice and friendly. Good breakfast with a nice choice. Would very much recommend. A good hotel with plenty of parking, just... More

National trust property. Free to members..£11 each for non members..well worth it. My family and I really enjoyed our day at Dunster Castle 🏰. Beautiful gardens and scenery from the castle itself. Nice. Tearoom and shop. Plenty to look at and spend the whole day. Be warned..very steep hills all around the castle. Got tricky at times, but lots of... More

I booked this hotel as part of a UK tour. Ok it was a little expensive but I knew Dunster was lovely and thought the hotel would be worth it. We were greeted by warm and friendly staff and checked in to our room "the stable" next door. The room was big, warm and very comfortable. We were able to... More

We got married in Dunster this year, booking this hotel as our wedding venue. We booked all the rooms for the weekend so our family could stay with us. It was fantastic! Great food, music on the evening, nothing was to much trouble. First class, we loved every minute of our wedding here, all down to the hosts making us... More

We stayed at this hotel for 3 nights and by the time we left we felt as though it was our regular restaurant/ bar. The management had only just changed hands but you wouldn't have known, the staff were brilliant, no request was too small or outrageous. The service and cleanliness was thorough from Accomodation to just popping in for... More

stayed here as we were attending a wedding in Dunster. Staff were friendly and accommodating, helpful as we arrived ahead of check in time & needed to get ready for the wedding. Room was spacious but very warm on a humid day. Did open windows (in need of some renovation though) but overlooking the main street so was noisy. Bed... More

Hi Liz, thank you for taking the time to review us here at The Dunster Castle Hotel, we take all of your comments on board and will be looking at our cooked options for breakfasts and also the possibility of moving toward lighter bedding in the summer months. Unfortunately as we are a Grade 2 listed building it is very... More

We booked two rooms - Fownes (two twin beds) $160 US and DeMotun ("standard double") $145 US. The good news: great location for hiking in Exmoor National Park, quaint looking town, easy to find, free parking behind the hotel (if you can squeeze your car through the passage to get there). The bad news: The downstairs is in pretty good... More

Upon arrival we were greeted by friendly, efficient staff who sorted out our booking details quickly. We were shown to our rooms (1 superior king size and 1 twin) and found they were very clean and in an immaculate condition. Both were en-suite and had plenty of space. The windows were sash windows and had the top lowered to allow... More

No one to receive us on arrival - a sign of the times to come. This hotel is shabby and in need of a good clean. Promised an evening meal with an extensive menu. When arriving for dinner told kitchen was closed. Explained we were residents and eventually accepted. Menu was limited and no wine list offered. No draught bitter... More

Went here for lunch with my friends & there 2 children, the restaurant was empty & staff were very courteous. However within 15 minutes 3 more tables were occupied. The food was not the best & small portions. The shocking experience was that the waiting/bar staff having arguments with kitchen staff at the open area regarding the kitchen being very... More
