Upon arrival we were greeted by friendly, efficient staff who sorted out our booking details quickly. We were shown to our rooms (1 superior king size and 1 twin) and found they were very clean and in an immaculate condition. Both were en-suite and had plenty of space. The windows were sash windows and had the top lowered to allow... More

No one to receive us on arrival - a sign of the times to come. This hotel is shabby and in need of a good clean. Promised an evening meal with an extensive menu. When arriving for dinner told kitchen was closed. Explained we were residents and eventually accepted. Menu was limited and no wine list offered. No draught bitter... More

As we didn't actually stay here (had to cancel as one of our children was poorly) I can't actually comment on the hotel. But if the service I received was anything to go by then I am glad that we didn't stay here. It took three weeks for them to even process a refund of the money we had paid... More

Went here for lunch with my friends & there 2 children, the restaurant was empty & staff were very courteous. However within 15 minutes 3 more tables were occupied. The food was not the best & small portions. The shocking experience was that the waiting/bar staff having arguments with kitchen staff at the open area regarding the kitchen being very... More

The hotel has its own parking at the rear and the entrance to the hotel was through either the bar area at the side or through the front restaurant area. The hotel is small with plenty of character. The staff were friendly and welcoming. We were shown to our standard double bedroom, which was the attic room. The room was... More

In April we booked three rooms at the Dunster Castle Hotel for one night in June. However, only 5 days prior to our planned stay we were informed, via email, that our booking was cancelled and that they should never have accepted our booking. They did not try to find us alternative accommodation until we phoned them. Luckily we were... More

On a recent tour of the south west I had chance to use the Dunster castle hotel. I found it a very nice place with pleasant and very helpful staff. It is situated in the main street . It was very clean and cosy. It has a coffee lounge that is open to the public and serve excellent coffee. I... More

I'm not usually one to write reviews on trip advisor, but after seeing the recent write ups on here I thought it was only fair. I have stayed here on several occasions in a number of rooms! Clean and tidy with towels, water and tea/coffee refreshed every day! Beds are comfortable and large, the grabbist room comes highly recommended with... More

Booked with Hotels.com. Paid £60 and conformation said we had a superior king-size room. On arrival we were shown to the room. It was dire. Mould on the wall and suspiciously an air freshener in the room. The plaster was damp and there was a hole in it. We were told that Hotel.com keep telling people they have a superior room... More

In response to your recent review I feel it is necessary to respond. The booking which you had made through an affiliate website on the internet was for a Double Ensuite value room. You did not book a superior room. Our superior rooms are charged at £130 onwards based on two people sharing. We explained to you that we have... More

Me and my partner came here for a one night get away and paid £90 for a double room. When we got to the room we found that there as cracks all over the walls, the bed was hanging together with a bit of ply wood and the bed sheets tied around it! The headboard wasn't secured either so couldn't... More
