I went for one night in April 2014 as I had a Applicant Day to go to. The location is amazing and I cannot fault it. The price was good for one night. And the bed was decent but I didn't sleep well due to the road and snoring but I don't sleep well as a rule anyway. The social... More

The only thing going for this place is its central location and lower prices. Staff seemed half asleep and depressed, they also all live there and take over the kitchen and small lounge at times. The kitchen and main bathroom seemed clean but both had bad smells to them particularlythe bathroom which stank of mould. The bedroom was clean but... More

The only positive about this hostel is its location. But there are other hostels close by so chose those instead if location is important. The bathrooms are disgusting, the kind in which you hold your breath. The common room and kitchen weren't much better and the hostel staff were disinterested at best. I heard that the ymca was much better... More

Pros: 1. Super location. Cons: 1. Completely lacks character. 2. December and the heating wasn't working. The window was broken too and it couldn't be shut fully. Everyone was freezing in the room. 3. Hair dryer doesn't work. 4. Poor cleanliness. 5. The dungeon/bar area was horrible and smelly and not an active bar at all, don't go there. 6.... More

In a country flooded with party hostels that pump more money into their bars than their beds or bathrooms, it's nice to find a hostel that actually feels like a hostel. It's old and daggy, of course, but isn't that how it's supposed to be? I see a lot of complaints about the size of the rooms, but both the... More

Pros: Kitchen is nicely stocked, showers were surprisingly clean and warm, location is brilliant. The dorm had a lot of space and we could open windows if it got too stuffy. Cons: As soon as I entered the building, I felt like I was attending a funeral service or perhaps a very strict library. No one spoke to each other... More

My friend and I stayed a night in a 10 person mixed room on the third floor, and I could barely move. Whenever I turned or changed my position in the slightest I would hit something. The ceiling had beams holding it up and I hit my head on them multiple times in my one night. There was no room... More

This place was wonderful! The people there were very friendly and easy going. I had planned on staying for three days but ended up staying a week. They were very flexible about changing dates around. The rooms were clean and the beds were comfortable. The room was cold, but when the room was full, it was warmer. There is a... More

One of the best hostels I've ever stayed in. It's a ten second walk to Baths, Abbey etc. and there's a club on the same street that is great for students! Rooms were spacious and clean, beds were comfortable and lockers are provided (BYO padlock). Staff were friendly and helpful, the common room and kitchen are large and clean, all... More
