Genuinely disgusting, none of the toilets were suitable for use by a human. The room was horrible, with beams rendering the top bunks almost inaccessible. For the price I'd expect something with much better facilities and finish. Very disappointing!

This hostel is a nightmare. It begins with a rude staff. The bedroom is very small, without ventilation and you have to go everywhere with a piece of paper with the HUGE code to enter the room. Terrible system. There is 3 or 4 toilets for EVERYBODY in the hostel. One in each floor, except the top floor, it has... More

What may have been an otherwise pleasant stay was marred by the fact that the hostel was undergoing refurbishment and the whole place stank of paint fumes. When my friend couldn't stay (i.e. was literally wretching from the smell) they refused to accommodate at all and charged us the full price though we had to book into a different hostel... More

My experience at this hostel was the worst possible. I have no problem with old or classic buildings, but they have to be well maintained. This hostel is old, ugly and very poor preserved. The reception clerk was not very kind or solicitous. The kitchen is filthy and disorganized. There was only one basin toilet per floor (all very dirty),... More

Very good location, maybe 2 min walk from train station and 2 minutes from the Roman Baths. Very affordable, has a nice big kitchen to cook your own meals in and an ok common room. And I actually had a hot shower while I was here unlike some other hostels.

You can't ask for a better location. Very friendly and helpful staff. No place to store backpacks. Only crtique would be the showers are terrible; you have to push a button continuously to keep the water flowing. But, for a short stay, great value. (April 2011)

This place is a difficult one to define. It really depends on what you're looking for. If you're expecting a five star (or one star) hotel, it is not. If you're looking for a bed to sleep in at night and just that, you've come to the right place. There is a kitchen that offers a fridge, stove, tea, coffee... More
