My 15-year old daughter and I stayed at this hotel for 3 nights. As a Jane Austen fan, she was thrilled to be staying on the famous Great Pultney Street mentioned in Austen's books. We arrived by train, and it was a bit of a walk to get to the Edgar Hotel (10 minutes), but the walk is right through... more

It was very dated, and all the furniture needed updating; badly. Everything was clean on the other hand. Staff friendly and helpful. Good if you only plan to stay a night or two more

Had a good stay for a very reasonable rate at the Edgar. Walked in to a reasonable rate for a very large room & a parking permit for that night + the next day - an important benefit in Bath where central parking is very difficult. Enjoyed the breakfast & the hospitaliy. more

Stayed at Edgar Hotel in January and was very pleased with the whole package. We were upgraded to a larger room as we'd arrived late on Saturday afternoon and were leaving on Sunday. Room was very clean with sitting area and views across the town. Coffee/tea facilities, hairdryer, TV, etc all there and in good order. Bathroom perhaps a little... more

The bed was a little firm for my liking- a thicker mattress cover would make a world of difference. The staff were very pleasant in person but the quote altered during 2... more

Location, location, location. This hotel has it. It's just down Great Pultney Road from the famous bridge and an easy walk to town centre. And, the breakfast is good - juices and cereals to full English, made to order, at a price that can't be beat. However, the decor is old and tired. The rooms are plain. The beds are... more

I have stayed at the Edgar Hotel twice. It's location is great. It is on Great Pulteney St right near the famous bridge. Easiest walk to all sights. It is a converted Edwardian townhouse, which was in need of a refurbish in 1998 when I last stayed there. The hotel was still comfortable without the new furnishings. It did not... more
