After reading the reviews after booking, we was dreading what we would be turning up to. Personally I feel people have expected to much. Literally round the corner to centre of town, no issue with parking, room was pleasant, wasn't expecting a bath so that was a nice surprise. Staff were friendly. Bed was best sleep had in ages. Room... More

I have never felt compelled to review a hotel either good or bad before, but after my brief experience in this hotel I wanted to share my experience of the most appalling customer service I have ever experienced. Arriving late after a long and tiring journey I was told (despite repeatedly insisting I had already booked a room) that there... More

Looks shabby, decor very dated and dark, staff were lovely but there was no english charm or service. It was very clean and rooms cleaned every day. Mattresses on beds were extra wide but bases extra small so the beds rock a bit but once you're on a good night's sleep is had. Was a bit noisy in the street... More

Hotel is in great location, minutes from city centre. However the place is room only, no lifts, no help with bags. This hotel can't have seen an hotel inspector since the 1950's. it's tired, dreary, intensely shabby, damp in places, threadbare carpets, dusty and dirty staircases, mouldering bathrooms. We decided to shower when we got home rather than use the... More

The carpet hides no evidence... one simply can look about and see the weekend activity for the last ten years on the carpet and walls. Everything else is as all ready stated in the previous reviews... it's cheap in comparison... ask yourself why!

We stayed here for one night only - thank goodness. What a dreadful, dreary, sad and dilapidated place. The hotel had thread bare carpets, was dusty, dirty and generally falling apart making it look like something from a third-world country. Light bulbs too throughout the building seemed to be an optional extra - more were 'out' than 'on'. Our room with... More

That's a real bad place: expensive, poor service, you do all by yourself to get to the room, no breakfast, room very ugly and uncomfortable, bathroom terrible, open to the street very noisy and enlighted... fortunatly it's close to the historical center although it s was pouring and we got soaked to reach it...

This hotel is indeed in need of some TLC and wouldn't take too much to make it more attractive and acceptable, decorating and new furnishings for example, however, I can say that the staff were very helpful and on the plus side the car parking was free and we could park there all day although we had checked out, this... Can't say anymore than others have already said, but don't stay here, it's pretty dreadful. We were given the 'best' room, bright purple walls and a four poster bed that was held together by some net curtains and a lot of dust!!
