We has a wonderful night at Apsley house. We had all sorts of trouble finding accommodation at the last minute but they were very welcoming here and even spared some time to proudly give us a brief history of the building. Very comfortable room and the breakfast was lovely with an amazing view.

This former country home of the Duke of Wellington has preserved its charm while offering all of the modern conveniences. We stayed in the Mornington Room, the former kitchen downstairs, with a small safe in the old baking oven! The large four-poster bed was extremely comfortable, there was plenty of room for our two large suitcases, a nice view into... More

We stayed 3 nights in the Champagne Room. We were made very welcome. Breakfast was terrific, served in a very comfortable dinning room overlooking the garden. Lots of choice, the daily special, especially the Eggs Benedict were delicious. The staff were all very, very attentive, discretely.

We stayed in the Victoia suite, the bathroom is amazing but you can feel that the bed is two large singles zipped together which didn't make for the most comfortable sleep. The staff were very helpful and friendly and couldn't do enough for us, and breakfast was very good. The hotel itself is spotless inside and out and a 20... More

Stayed 3 nights at the Apsley. Kate and Miro did a great job of welcoming us, helping us to get our bearings, reserving a restaurant for us and even giving us an extra early breakfast before departure. The Apsley is a beautiful house, set in a lovely garden. The breakfast room is all white linen and silver service. The choice... More

We stayed at the Apsley 12th - 15th September 2014, despite an initial feeling of the location being a little bit out of the way, this was totally diminished by the frequent bus service, easy and pleasant walk via the park into town and abundant taxi services. The hotel lived up to every great review it has had, friendly staff,... More

I had previously stayed at this hotel about 15 years ago and it was exceptional. So I checked the recent reviews and thought I would book the Coach House and take the family (August 2014). The Hotel still looks very nice and we were pleasantly greeted when we arrived at the Apsley House. The Coach House though is slightly grubby... More

The Aspley House Hotel deserves its title as one of the best in the entire UK! I booked it for a couple of nights in early september for a mini honeymoon as i could not get a week off from work. We came the night after our wedding and brought all our presents and cards to unwrap! The room was... More

Stayed here for one night in the Salamanca room at the rear on the second floor; beautifully decorated, spacious room and bathroom with everything you need. Wonderful views over the valley below. We were able to check-in early and then walked into the city centre via Victoria Park and the Royal Crescent - this took 30-40 minutes. Going back late... More
