My partner & I stayed in a private room during a break to Bath. The location of the hostel is great. Unfortunately we had to check out early as my partner was unwell. The rooms are basic but clean. The bathroom, however could have been cleaner, there was a dead moth on the floor for the duration of our stay.... More

Overall, the common lounge and rooms were simply not very clean. Our room had a very odd smell, which did not go away even after leaving the window open for an entire day. Surprisingly, the restrooms were extremely clean and in good order. Breakfast served was ok, but the cafeteria was awfully hot to sit and eat in. We stayed... More

Stayed here as needed some where cheap and local in Bath. I am also planning on traveling next year and thought I'd try out hostels as an option within the relatively safe environment of the U.K.! Really easy to book, really clean bathrooms and friendly staff. I had a private single room which was well equipped and the bed really... More

I stayed as a solo traveller in Bath while on my way to visit a friend. The location of the hostel is fantastic, right in the centre of town, a short walk from the shops, railway station and town centre attractions. The hostel is beginning to look a little dated; while the beds are new and sturdy with good mattresses,... More

My friends and I stayed one night and it was nice. The staff were nice, arranged additional mattresses when we asked. It's really close to most of the places to visit, and is at the heart of Bath. Proper place to crash for backpackers with a low budget for a couple of nights!

Really good location, right in the centre of town. Stayed in a 12 dorm room and there was plenty of space, they provide lockers that you can store your stuff in (and if you don't have your own lock you can get one from reception by putting down a 10 pound deposit). Very clean. Downside was that my room (dorm... More

This is a good hostel in the centre of Bath. It is easy to get to and it is easy to navigate Bath from there. The reception staff are friendly and are there to assist in 24 hours. There purified water available in the dinning room 24 hours a day. We booked a private room which was comfortable and clean... More

I stayed in a small single room so cannot comment on the dorms. The room was clean and good enough for a weekend stay - a single bed (they gave me bed linen/towel free of charge upon arrival), a sink and a wardrobe. Plug socket in the room. The window let lots of light in; not double-glazed so there was... More

The room was generally clean and comfy. The bed was comfy and there was enough room for suitcase etc. It did get a bit noisy after 11pm and there is only one bathroom for the whole floor. I would recommend it for doing Bath on a budget!

This was my strategy for walking the Cotswold Way: I made my way to Bath, stayed at the Bath YMCA, left my big roller bag with them (no charge since I was returning), took trains and buses to Chipping Campden, walked back to Bath (see my Cotswold Way review), and stayed another two nights there recovering and exploring this great...
