My husband and I stayed here in late May and we had booked one of the larger rooms in the hotel. After London, we were very pleasantly surprised by the size of the room. We stayed in six hotels during our trip to London and Paris and this was definitely one of our best. The bathroom was huge and the... more

We went to Bath for our 10th anniversary and really enjoyed the city and its spa. About the Hotel, it is a really central location, in a wide and quiet avenue in one of the posh old style buildings. The room was ok but a bit small as we were under the roof with a little window. I guess it... more

Great trip. Will definitely return. Beautiful central buildings. Great to be able to check email in the lounge. Staff knowledgable about Bath and helpful with parking facilities. Compact but good value for price of £105 in Bath. Have booked for Christmas market already! Kendo more

We stayed at the Carfax Hotel, Bath for 2 nights in January 2009. The rooms are like a suite with a huge (I think King) bed. Bathroom was lovely with a heated towel rail. Tea & Coffee making facilites in the room. Breakfast was lovely with a choice of cereals, yoghurts, fruit, cold meats and also a hot English breakfast... more

I visit Bath 4 times a yr with friends. The carfax appeared tired ,worn &depressing. The cooked breakfast came as we had just got our cereal, poorly presented & egg tasted as though it had been cooked sometime before. This is the first hotel we have stayed in that we would never go back to. more

I stayed at the Carfax Hotel for two nights between Christmas and New Year and booked a double plus room for my husband and myself. Room 23 was large, quiet and clean, although the bathroom was a bit dated and the lighting in the dressing area was inadequate. The reception staff were very pleasant and the car parking at the... more

A literally horrifying experience! Don't stay here. Besides the teeny, weeny rooms (we stayed in the family suite with low ceilings) we were stuck in the ancient lift (elevator) and had to pry our way out! My family and I were stuck on the enclosed elevator for an extended period of time with no way out other than the brute... more

The Carfax staff are very sad that the experience in our elevator affected this guest's experience of the hotel, and sympathise with their distress. The building is grade 1 listed and was built in the 1790s. We have two lifts serving all floors and the smaller lift shaft was installed in the 1930s. As Bath planning department are rightly very...

Great location in Bath just 10 minutes walk from shops, Thermae spa and the Christmas market. Quiet, clean and cosy rooms. Breakfast is all freshly cooked using local ingredients. Excellent choice for a weekend break in Bath. more

I was looking for a reasonably priced hotel in Bath close to the centre but in a quieter location. There were 3 of us travelling to Bath for work purposes. I chose the Carfax after reading the reviews on Trip Advisor and also because it offered a small car park. We were all very pleased with the choice, the staff... more

My best friend and I have just spent a great girlie weekend in Bath where we stayed at the Carfax Hotel. We chose this one based upon the reviews we read on Trip Advisor and we were not disappointed. This hotel is very ideally located with just a short walk into the centre of Bath. We were upgraded to a... more
