Walk to central Bath in 5 minutes across the Pulteney Bridge. In a beautiful street, with great views from upper back windows. Quite area, park behind, Holburne Museum a block away. Nice lounge. Breakfast is first rate. Sunday roast dinner. Has a cozy feel. Only a couple dozen rooms in three townhouses. More

The Carfax is in a great location - 2 blocks or so from Pulteney bridge, the Baths, the cathedral etc. The room can be small, but others are fine. The topmost rooms are _very_ small, and we refused ours, got one on a lower floor that was newer, fresher, and bigger. Plus the lift was out so up 5 (or... More

We had a great stay here. Parked right outside with a permit from the hotel. 8 minute walk to Roman Baths and Abbey. Small room but comfortable and cosy. Really polite and helpful staff. Cooked breakfast included and very nice. Good value for money. More

I stayed here with a group of friends. We found the staff helpful and courteous and the rooms pleasant. The room was clean and the bathroom adequate. The hotel is excellently situated near the town centre but is really quiet. Our room was at the back and had a nice view and no passing traffic. The breakfast was very good... More

All the rooms here are fine but if using the included Internet is important to you be sure to book a room on a lower floor otherwise the signal will be aggravatingly weak. Rates do vary quite a bit according to the season. An exceptional plus point here is the first class breakfast. More

We had pre-booked the Carfax so were disappointed when our room turned out to be extremely compact with a sloping roof and small window that opened onto a concrete parapet spanning the upper facade of the building that blocked both the view and fresh air. We were fortunate to arrive early in the afternoon and secure a car space in... More

Very convenient for the city centre and the car park is a big plus. Room very cosy and comfortable, breakfast good, staff all helpful and friendly. Not having a licence is not really a problem for breakfast! More

The hotel overall is pleasant with a comfortable lounge and breakfast room serving good variety of food. However to save money, we were told there would be no heating in our room until 8pm the first evening. the second evening they put it grudgingly on at 6pm. The third evening are room was not cleaned and neither were the common... More

The Carfax hotel is situated close to the main attractions in Bath. The car park is small, but parking is available on the road at certain times of the day. The breakfasts were delicious. One gripe was that the lift didn't work for our whole stay(4 nights) and our room was situated on the top floor. We had to ask... More

Booked for 3 nights, told the only room available was the disabled room on ground floor. When we arrived the room stank of dirty drains so we requested a move, told the manager was at lunch so went back after an hour and told her our problem. She asked why we had booked that room even though we were told... More
