Small, friendly run hotel. Very clean, fantastic bedroom, comfy beds and bedding. Lovely tray with cafetiere, as well as many lovely biscuits (really nice touch). The bistro which we eat in both nights had a great choice, unusual to have a choice for vegetarians ! Great food when it arrived, really nice and interesting. The hotel was very quiet and... More

Great location, rooms are clean and relatively spacious given the building's age. However the old girl is really showing her age and at nearly £100 per night for one I think either prices come down or a major refurbishment takes place. Decor and appliances are quite dated and tired, however clearly a high standard of cleanliness is observed.

The Royal Hotel is an older hotel, and the rooms reflect this but it was clean, comfortable and warm. We had a good deal which included breakfast and dinner. The decor in the dining room and bar were modern and the food was good This Hotel is very central, almost in the middle of the city. Bath is a wonderful... More

Really enjoyed our one night stay. The room was clean with lovely extra touches like a cafetiere instead of instant coffee. The staff were friendly and helpful we turned up on the wrong date and they were able to accommodate us. Location is excellent for the city centre. We were on a travel zoo offer and the deal was extremely... More

again another travelzoo trip but we would never have come to this location had we not seen this..it was meant to be Bournemouth! so it was really well advertised and it was so lovely I want to bring my husband next time. A good tip as we found our 202 room noisy is to book a double which are on... More

It was located conveniently right next to the Train station. Most of the attractions of Bath are within walking distance of the hotel and the City sightseeing bus stop is right outside the hotel as well, not to mention many shopping and eating options. The rooms are small but cosy and romantic. Breakfast was rather basic but good and service... More

We got to the hotel around 4pm and I was a bit dismayed to find it was next to the train station, but I now admit I was so pleasantly deceived. The interior is true to the hotels origins as a Victorian marvel but renewed to show the true splendor of it's origins. It was designed by the late, great,... More

Thank you for your review which I very much enjoyed reading especially as it captures what we try to achieve with the decor and design in both the hotel bedrooms, which we endeavour to decorate and furnish in a manner to retain the character of the building which dates back to 1846, and our restaurant, which has a Parisian brasserie... Two night stay through Travelzoo. Excellent value for money. Hotel ideally situated for exploring Bath on foot. Pelican crossing away from the railway station. We cannot fault the staff. All of them were helpful and cheerful. We will return.

We stayed overnight en route to Southampton, travelling by train. We'd previously stayed 4 nights about 10 years ago when we had an excellent visit. The same happened this time. Staff were all very helpful in a friendly but efficient manner. Our room and en suite were of a high standard as was breakfast. We didn't eat other meals in... More
