If there was a lower mark than Terrible I would use it. Let's start with no air conditioning!! All you have is a fan, which is so noisy. And you cannot open the windows properly. Bedrooms are shabby, the sofa had seen better days (probably a day in 1972), it had the most disgusting dark stain on it. Bed clothes... More

Relais et Chateau it isn't, but if you are looking for a clean, comfortable hotel in the centre of Bath you couldn't do much better than to stay here. In my experience the staff will go well out of their way to make sure your stay is a happy one and the manager leads by example in this. Additionally the... More

Great location for the station and town. Thought it would be a great location till I tried to go sleep, there is a night club near and till 3am in the morning had to listen to drunk people walking past swearing and shouting. Also walls are paper thin and can hear everything from neighbouring room especially when they decided to... More

We stayed here for 2 nights and were very impressed with the standard of everything, we made sure that we had a 1st floor room with a large full length opening window which enabled us to get plenty of ventilation as it was a sunny couple of days, the room and bathroom were spotless with a very good shower, you... We spent one night, the hotel was close to the attractions and the train station. The room was clean and comfortable, no air conditioning. Service at the reception was helpful and friendly. Breakfast included the buffet and anything on the menu so there was lots of taste food, service was quick and friendly.

We stayed here for 2 nights. Room was large & bathroom was clean. The room lacked good air conditioner & bar fridge. Breakfast was nice but not much choices. We had nice dinner on the first night. All staff were warm & friendly. Lift was very small.

Thank you for posting your review but I was disappointed to read that you felt that the accommodation was overpriced when in fact we are on par with similar classified hotels in Bath. Although we do not have air conditioning we do provide a fan to help the air circulation on the odd occasions when the weather is hot and... More

I stayed here for one night with work. Great location, clean and tidy which is the main thing! I was given a family room just for me :) Bed was a little hard and as it was warm outside it was boiling in my room/ in the hotel. There was a fan but it didn't give out much air at... More

Thank you for posting this review following your stay with us. I regret that on this particular occasion the short spell of hot stuffy weather made your room uncomfortable in spite of you being provided with a fan. I note your comments regarding the bathroom ceiling which is scheduled as part of our rolling maintenance programme to be repainted within... More

I chose The Royal Hotel. What more can you want than a clean and inviting hotel with very pleasant and professional staff, good food , a comfortable bed and close proximity to shops and places of interest. I especially like the special touch of a cafetiere in the room, a towel and slippers provided for the Thermae Bath Spa -... More

Thank you very much for posting this review and for the very complimentary remarks. It was also nice to note that you appreciated the little extras in the room such as cafetiere coffee and the towel and slippers provided for your visit to the Thermae Spa. I have just returned from my stay at the Royal Hotel and have some feedback that i hope will be taken well. My husband, baby daughter and I had come for a few days away to experience Bath. On arrival the hotel looks lovely! The lift though was extremely small and barely fit me and the pram in to it... More

Thank you very much for your feedback following your stay with us which we very much welcome. Yes our lift can only take up to 3 people but as you appreciate with a building which was built in 1846, we are constrained re what we can do in respect of lift installation. With regards to the fact that there was... More

I stayed here for a weekend with my mum. The location is perfect for those arriving by train as it is 30 seconds' walk from the railway station. The staff were so friendly and helpful throughout the stay. The decor is a little dated but perfectly fine. We had a twin room on the second floor facing out onto the... More
