I booked this hotel for a special trip to England celebrating our 35th wedding anniversary. After reading the reviews from 2008, it seemed that the Tasburgh was the most lovely place available near Bath. Sue Keeling, the hotelier, was most gracious in emails and in giving help / advice ahead of our trip. Then, in May, BBC American started to... more

It's plain that a great deal of time (and money!) has been lavished on this very pretty hotel. Attention to detail is everywhere apparent, with high quality furnishings and elegant decor throughout. The garden grounds are very extensive and a combination of these and the slightly out of town location make for a cool, quiet and restful night. (Bath was... more

Lovely setting- great views. Great garden with plenty of tables/ seats. Room a little cramped- "family" room in attic, but decor good. Staff helpful and polite. Surprising that "Full English breakfast " was extra cost (£7.00).- this is not made clear on their website. Drinks etc not cheap- agree with oher guests about extra charges eg newspapers. Confusion over prices-... more

I visited Bath with my daughter to look at one of the universities, and thanks to Trip Advisor, picked out this hotel. Glad I did! Hoping my daughter decides on the uni so I can have a reason to revisit very soon. The hotel is perched above the valley, which although on a busy road at the front, overlooking fields... more

Totally fab hotel...lovely, inviting, very well appointed rooms, and personally, the teddy bears ought to stay. They are absolutely precious, gorgeous, and a personal touch, it made the room warm and inviting. Anyone that is disturbed at having a beautiful teddy bear in their room, simply ought to have the front desk temporarily remove it. All in all Sue is... more

We had a wonderful quad room (Shelley) for our two adults and two children. It was perfect for us. Charlie the parakeet made us feel immediately happy and Susan is one of the hardest working and nicest proprietors you will ever meet. Walking into Bath was easy and enjoyable and Susan gave us great dining recommendations. Breakfast in the dining... more

We arrived to find that our twin room was not available due to plumbing problems. We were offered one bed on the lower ground floor and another two floors higher. As a married couple we expect to holiday in the same room. We opted to share the kingsize bed on the lower ground floor, but neither of us slept very... more

At the risk of sounding like the other Tasburgh reviews I have to say that our stay there last week was absolutely perfect. The room was beautiful and bright, the food was amazing, and Sue instantly made us feel at home. She had a full house but when we needed help she delivered and I never felt like she was... more

Rarely does a service experience knock my socks off, but Sue, Toni and their team do it at Tasburgh House. We travel a lot for business and pleasure, so tend to have a pretty critical eye. My wife and I, plus friends visiting from Connecticut found a rare combination of hospitality, exceptional service, spotless rooms and customer focus here. It... more
