We usually stay in one of the city centre hotels or B&Bs on our regular visits to Bath, but on the basis of the glowing reviews of the Athole Guest House we thought we'd give it a try. What can I say other than I heartily agree with the previous reviewers. This is a truly great B & B. Wolfgang... more

Athole Guest house could have been just another lovely English B&B but Wolfgang and his staff made all the difference. We travelled through the UK for a month during August and stayed at a mix of accommodations but Athole House was by far and away our pick for this trip. If you needed a demonstration of how a B&B shoud... more

We regularly visit Bath, but this was our first stay at the Athole and it won't be our last. As has already been mentioned, Wolfgang was really welcoming, enthusiastic, nothing appeared to be too much trouble. Its a lovely spacious house, warm and comfortable, we really didnt want to leave. We had one of the smaller rooms, but this was... more

Wolfgang is a fantastic, welcoming and generous host, offering to pick us up even after a delayed flight from the Bristol airport for a reasonable charge, providing in-depth knowledge about Bath history and architecture, fantastic hot and cold quality breakfasts, beautifully clean and well-designed rooms, lovely guest house and good location. A perfect stay, thanks so much!" more

I have been a travel writer for more than twenty years now, and in all that time I have never stayed in a better English B&B than the Athole. The house is a spacious and handsome building, the bedrooms are large and immaculately furnished, the breakfast is extremely generous and perfectly prepared - and, by no means least, the hosts... more

My husband, my mother and I loved this charming place. The rooms were large and spotless, the bathrooms immaculate and the breakfast delicious with a great variety. Wolfgang could not have been more helpful and the location was perfect as it was a 10 minute down hill stroll to the centre of Bath. As a city we adored Bath and... more

Wolfgang, Josephine and staff all helped to make our 3 day stay so enjoyable. Caring, considerate and always available. Delightful well heated large room - Beckworth. Best breakfasts ever! We would never consider staying anywhere else when we revisit Bath. more

My husband and I recently stayed for a weekend break at Athole Guest House for our anniversary. We couldn't have wished for a nicer place to stay. The guest house is clean, warm, friendly with very spacious rooms. We stayed in the Fielding room which was beautiful. Wolfgang and Josephine are very friendly, accomodating and willing to help make your... more

Our stay at Athole House will be long remembered mainly due to the host and hostess.I have never experienced such care and attention to the needs of guest. The grounds are beautiful and they present a relaxing atmosphere. They do all the cooking from scratch and they do it excellently. The pancakes taste much better than those made from a box mix. Both Wolfgang... more
