This without a doubt was the best B&B we stayed at during our 2 week stay in England. We, 3 couples, stayed at the Athole House for 3 nights. The rooms were large, well appointed, and clean. The breakfast menu was extensive and the food served was excellent. Josephine's pancakes were to die for. She even shared her recipe with... More

A beautiful home with excellent fixtures and fittings. We had a fabulous bedroom larger than most living rooms. Josephine, our host, could not have been more welcoming and accommodating. Off street parking is limited to four vehicles. The home is a fifteen minute walk to the city, although if you have dined and wined, you might want to take a... More

We stayed for one night on 26th October 2014 and would not hesitate to return. The house and gardens are stunning even in autumn so I can only wonder what they are like in the height of summer. We paid £90 for a very large kingsize room with spotless ensuite and our own sitting area breakfast was included in this... More

Stayed at Athole in the Fielding Room for one night with my mother. Great old house on a quiet street near central Bath. The room was clean and very comfortable. The hosts were pleasant and helpful. Breakfast was amazing! Freshly baked breads, homemade marmalade, local cheeses, and a good choice of mains. Who doesn't like being woken up by smells... More

My husband and I arrived in UK from Australia and drove directly to Athole Guest House in Bath. Lovely welcome from Josephine. We stayed in Pope Room which was spacious and very comfortable, especially the bed. The breakfast was 5 star - eggs benedict the best I've had!! We would definately recommend to other travellers to this beautiful area.

We stayed for one night on the way back from Cornwall and had a lovely stay. Josephine is really friendly and was great with our two year old daughter, as were the other staff. We stayed in the Fielding room which was huge. You could have a party in there!! Its really nicely decorated - the pictures on the website... More

We stayed one night with friends from Massachusetts (who have already posted their review which echoes exactly our thoughts on this delightful guest house). Athole certainly lived up to the great reviews we had seen here. The owners have thought of everything. A first-class establishment.

I thought that I had reviewed this before, but I guess it never got posted. Anyways, my husband & I stayed here for a week in June 2014, for our honeymoon and we could not have asked for a better experience! From the moment we got off the train, we felt welcomed and wanted. When we were tired & jet-lagged... More

Beautiful, clean, elegantly decorated house. Great shower, comfortable bad, best breakfast with fresh homemade bread, fruit, and eggs to order, including eggs benedict. Josephine recommended a restaurant for dinner which turned out to be the beat meal of the trip.

Our family stayed at Athole from late August to early September for 7 nights. What I can say is: EXCELLENT! Josephine and her staff made a wonderful strong team. They are professional, cheerful and warm. They provide the best for their guests. From the considerate pick-ups and drives, the best ever breakfast with decent presentation, the brew coffee and snacks... More
