We enjoyed Bath, but the hotel was disappointing. The room was adequate and clean but the public areas were tired looking; Christmas decorations in October was rather depressing. The food was poor and reminded me of my school dinners. more

We were directed to stay at the Lansdown for one night when attending a wedding last weekend. As we arrived at the front door tot the hotel we were assaulted by Christmas decorations (it was October 23rd). Even the polish gentleman on reception bemoaned the fact that "it's been turkey and tinsel since Monday". Whilst the check-in was pleasant and... more

We have just returned from a 5 day Shearings holiday to this hotel. On arrival at the hotel we were all taken care of quickly and efficiently. Our room was good and our bathroom was excellent so large and with a wonderful shower. Evening dinner was served at our own chosen time betweeen 6.30pm and 8.00pm. This was nice as... more

Booked this hotel after seeing advert in Mail on Sunday offering special rate for 4 nights DBB. Have never stayed in a Shearing Hotel before but thought we would give it a go. Hotel in very good position approx 15 min walk into Bath but we used this as a base to visit other areas. Hotel staff very helpful, service... more

We stayed here for 4 nights, me and my partner. The hotel offers lovely views of the charming city of bath. However its on top of a huge hill, so if you are arriving by train or want to visit the city centre a taxi or bus is required. We are 2 fitish people in our 30's and the hill... more

We stayed at this hotel over the bank holiday weekend. We were pleased that we could stay for just two nights (many hotels require a three night minimum for these weekends) but it fell below our expectations. We were hoping for a lovely old house, but what we found was a run down place with pretty terrible food. The room... more

My wife and I stayed at the Lansdwon Hotel for two nights, 21st and 22nd August. The hotel is nothing like the pictures as it is now very much in need of being closed down and refurbished to bring it to an acceptable standard. The car parks are small and cars are paked in a way that makes it difficult... more

We booked a 3 night weekend break and paid £5 a night each for a front facing room with a view overlooking the hotel gardens and down into Bath. Ours was spacious and clean with a comfy bed. Reception friendly and helpful. Breakfast included choice of cereals, porage, juice and yogurt with hot food option as well (typical of Shearings... more

Had a very relaxing weekend at the Lansdown Grove Hotel, the decor was a little bit tired but very clean and for the price (£79 for 2 nights) excellent value for money. The staff were the friendliest and most helpful I've come across and I have no complaints. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it or stay there again. more

Had a wonderful trip to Bath, staying at the Lansdown Grove Hotel. The hotel itself looks very pretty from the outside and has nice lounges for relaxing in after dinner although the bar area was a limited in size. The hotel staff are attentive and helpful, and the food plentiful although obviously geared towards an older generation that enjoy English... more
