Just returned from a 2 night break at the Landsdown Grove Hotel, good value for money. Restaurant was nice, food really good, staff very pleasant. The hotel (apart from restaurant) is badly in need of refurbishment, but there again we probably wouldn't have got it for such a agood price. It's little things like door handles falling off wardrobes, paintwork... more

We booked on a 'last minute' deal with criteria that the hotel must have a car park, located within easy reach of the M4 without having to enter the impossible narrow streets and one way systems of Bath centre (I would suggest checking directions on several booking agency sites as some are better than others), and within easy walking distance... more

Had 5 days with Shearings holidays, we paid extra for a room with a view was worth it, a large room with twin beds, sofa and chairs, only let down was a badly stained carpet, clean bathroom, food good , and staff helpfull and friendly. Bath is a nice place; some building work near the station but will not spoil... more

Stayed here for the first time. I thought the hotel was much better than I thought it might be. Food was good but went into Bath most of the time - some cracking places to eat! Will be back again as the wife loved it! Quite good price to stay as well! more

My wife and I have just returned from a 3 night break at this hotel. Previous reviwers have summed up the hotel so well that there is little more to add other than to emphasise the excellent service provided by the restaurant staff. more

We stayed for 3 nights on B & B basis and chose it because of the good reviews it had. We weren't disappointed and can recommend it if you want a good value break. Yes it is on a steep hill, but only took about 15 minutes to walk into Bath city centre and buses and taxis are cheap if... more

At the time of writing Shearings owned this hotel, but I believe it will change very soon. We had a premier room and found it very clean, comfortable, roomy, and warm. Bathroom was perfect - large and clean. It's an old creaky hotel, but still nice. The food was delicious, well presented, great choices, plentiful, and served by fabulous foreign... more

having read some negative reviews over this hotel prior to our stay I was very surprised and pleased that it was not what I had expected. the hotel provided a map of "how to find us" but whether it was me having an off day it was ambiguous. we found it by luck and glad that we picked it.
