My wife and I stayed for a weekend, when booking make sure your not on the third floor, the lift only goes to the second and then there are three flights to climb, the room was on the small side but perhaps that was because of the 6 foot square bed, the appearance of the Hotel was quite dour, thread-bear... Nice "homey" feeling hotel...if only my home was that nice. Had a great dinner in the bar and the staff seemed to go out their way to accommdate when possible. Enjoyed a few (too many?) drinks at the bottom of the hill at the Hop Pole Inn. Only negative is entrance was a little hard to traverse in our coach... More

We arived on Saturday 28th for a one night stay, we booked in OK and went to our room. The double bed was a small double but the room was reasonable ' you get what you pay for'. We had a cup of tea/coffee in the room and watched TV for a while then went down to the bar for... More

Stayed for one night at this hotel with my husband. Over all this was a very disappointing stay. The hotel is in a beautiful location, however the room assigned to us was a huge disappoint. The plus side of our stay at this hotel was our evening meal in the hotels dining room. We had a fantastic meal with great... More

From the second we got there everybody at the hotel was helpful and friendly. we were upgraded at no extra cost and had a room with a four poster. The receptionist gave us options for our meals , leaving the decision up to us and not pushing us in any way. we had a great deal to begin with so... More

Stayed here on business in the middle of Jan. The much vaunted views was lost on me as I arrived in the pitch black.Ample car parking and an imposing structure greeted me when I eventually arrived, speak about that later, Upon checking in there had been a mix up with the bookings so I had no room, the Night Duty... Many thanks for your kind comments, the roaring open log fire certainly is a winner during these cold winter months, thanks also for your SatNav advice the main road is indeed the easier option, we look forward to seeing you again More

My partner and I stayed at the Best Western Limpley Stock for two nights at the beginning of January as a post-Christmas getaway to visit Bath and the surrounding area. The hotel is in a lovely, rural setting with beautiful views over the valley. Unfortunately it rained so much that we were unable to do the walks we had planned... More

This is a lovely old substantial building, with a great outlook. Once inside the decor is very tired, the breakfast room needed to be redecorated the carpet was stained and the walls were grey and grubby. Our room carpet was badly stained and dirty, the bed linen was fresh and clean but the mattress had seen better days. If some money was spent... More

I apologise for your disappointing stay the hotel is indeed a magnificent period property in a wonderful location. The majority of rooms have been refurbished with contemporary colour schemes and fabrics, with the remainder scheduled for this year. The Restaurant carpet has now been cleaned following a particularly busy Christmas Party season. I am delighted that you enjoyed our pub at... More

we were welcomed by very unfriendly reception. at the price of 98pound / night and i booked 2 rooms, it is totally disappointing when i step into the room: very old furniture, malfunctional heater, not very clean, far and deserted location and so on. at night there was a party going on downstairs and it's noisy. in mid night some... We apologise for your unhappy stay we do indeed have parties at the weekends in December and it is disappointing that some partygoers disturbed you. I am surprised at your comments regarding our Housekeeping and reception teams as they are complimented on numerous occasions on their friendliness and efficiency More
