We originally wanted a hotel in the centre of Bath so we could visit the Thermae Spa, but with the time we left this was impossible. The hotel was ideally situated in the centre of Bath, we parked at the cricket ground for 24 hours which was £15 and which suited us. We had gone to Bath to see Texas... More

This hotel starts well on first visit with very friendly , helpful, and attentive staff . The rooms are reasonable and the hotel is ideally situated for central Bath. However, the restaurant falls down on several counts . It is overpriced with a two course meal with wine and after dinner cocktail at around £45 per head. The food quality... More

Dear Jonoclark Thank you for your very favourable review of the Abbey Hotel, we appreciate your positive comments. I am sorry to read your feedback relating to the bar and restaurant, we have very recently redefined the Allium menu to offer a wider selection and have many lower priced popular dishes alongside those that are more typical of Executive Chef... Once again the lovely staff at this hotel and it's location shone through, they are lovely it is a premium spot. The room whilst smaller than our previous room was still very comfortable with a huge comfy bed. Breakfast was good too. The lift was working on this visit and the new decor is very nice. It's hard to believe... More

Another great visit to this wonderful hotel. Great place for a rest and in excellent position for shopping and sight-seeing. Customer service at its best from all the staff. The only thing that was a problem is the in room I-Pad which has replaced the normal room guide with local info and hotel guide. If you are not familiar with... More

Location, room appearance, and staff professionalism are outstanding. However, the walls are so thin that we could hear everything going on in the next room. I loved that they held your luggage before checkin time and then delivered it to our room before we came back later.

We stayed only for a night. The room was huge and nice. The only problem was the room was a bit noisy during the night. The hotel is near to everything, Bath it's not a big place though. For breakfast I ate the english breakfast and was so good. Basic breakfast is available too, some toasts with butter or some... More

We stayed here for just one night. The hotel is perfectly fine. However, it seems to promise an arty type of interior design but we found it a bit drab. Our room was fine, although the bathroom needed a complete re-fit as it seemed to come from a different era. The staff were all excellent. Very friendly and welcoming. If... More

Dear TravelNutBristol Thank you for your review and very positive feedback on the location and the team. With reference to your comments about the bathrooms, I can confirm that work starts next month to fully re-fit all of our bathrooms to vastly improve the standard of facility, this is the next stage in our on-going refurbishment. A little surprised to... More

This hotel in the centre of lovely historic Bath is placed conveniently for the Roman Baths, shops, restaurants, Sally Lunns etc etc. I imagine it could get noisy outside in the square and plainly the portable bar outside suggests some revelry. However we stayed on a Sunday night and there was no such activity, We had a huge basement room... More

Bath was a lovely city and we had a super time at The Abbey Hotel. Our room was very comfortable, and the staff were very helpful with our daily plans. We had a delightful dinner in the restaurant on our final night. we will definitely come back to stay here!

Wish I had more time here. Only stayed one night. The hotel called when we didn't show up on time to make sure all was ok. Glad they did since we were having travel problems and they didn't just give our room away! Great room, great staff, perfect location.
