The Abbey Hotel is in a great place, on a small square just inside the city center and an easy walk from the train station. There was never any question of having to take taxis or buses. The room was big enough, ceiling high, clean and airy; breakfast was excellent. HOWEVER. The hotel has a patio restaurant on that small... more

The best location in Bath!! My room and bathroom were huge and i was completely satisfied with the service. Only one small complaint--it was kinda hot in my room and a bit noisy. However, if you got a room on the 2nd floor or above (they do have a lift) and actually ask the front desk about the heat situation,... more

I stayed in this hotel with my husband for four nights. This was our first and last time there. Great location, friendly staff, but if the idea is a calm break away from the kids -- wich can be extremely difficult to arrange -- this is not the place to go. All we wanted was to visit Bath, which we... more

This hotel epitomizes the concept of a bad hotel that persists because of its convenient location. Two nights here were definitely a letdown. We stayed in the Francis Moore room (avoid it!) and had three problems with the bathroom in two days. We awoke on the first morning (an hour after our requested wake-up call because the phone had been... more

We stayed for one night to visit Bath and its surrounds (where my mother's family hails from). The hotel is not right by the Abbey, but round the next corner. Locating it in Bath's maze of streets is difficult. There are some parking spots outside to unload in - but the nearest carpark is a few hundred metres away. The... more

We stayed in a twin room on the ground floor between 3,4 May. The room facilities and staff service was all pretty good in my opinion. the only criticism I think is that the hotel needs a bit of refurbishing. Our room was find but the heater didnt work (not sure whether this was intentional during May) but I found... more

During a week in London we took the train to Bath for a day and a half of siteseeing. The hotel is about a four block walk from the train station and is about one block from the center of town. We paid about $90 for a very quite and clean room. The hotel is in an old building but... more

I stayed here for 3 nights at the end of March 2009. The Hotel is within easy walking distance of the railway station and is right in the centre of Bath so it's in a terrific location for sightseeing. I stayed in Room 101 which was large & clean as was the bathroom. However, the room is located opposite a... more

We spent 3 nights in the Abbey and enjoyed our stay. It is within walking distance of all attractions in city. Our room was big enough for us both and our bathroom was nearly as big!! Staff very friendly especially at breakfast. We did not eat in hotel apart from breakfast. When booking(which I did last Sept.), I requested a... more
