Don't stay here! We booked 2 nights and left after the first night. The room floor sloped about 100mm - including the bed. That combined with the low ceiling (I couldnt lift my arms above my head) made me feel ill. To top it off - we scratched all night (the room was infested with some sort of mite) -... more

All in all we had a nice stay at the Francis Hotel in Bath. It's location in Queens Square was excellent. Our room was on the third floor and was very old fashioned. The only thing that keeps me from rating this hotel higher was the creakiness of our room. The weather was unusually warm and on the third floor... more

Hotel is very, very old, floors squeek badly, bathroom is the biggest problem. Nowhere to place your toiletries, no light in the toilet area which is separate from the bath/shower area, no light in or near the closet. Fan stays on in the bathroom when the light is turned off, this is particularly annoying at 4am, if someone goes to... more

This centrally located hotel was wonderful and I haven't a bad word to say about it. Getting upgraded to a four poster bedded room on the refurbished first floor obviously added to the enjoyment of the stay. The room was large, beautifully decorated, and I loved the bathroom. The bed was so comfortable - I wanted to take it home... more

I cannot recommend the Francis Hotel more highly. We stayed there for three nights in June 08 and were given room 129 on the first floor at the rear of the hotel. It had recently been refurbished and had the largest bed we have ever seen! The curtains had blackout lining and the bathroom was well equipped. The car park... more

Very nice hotel although slightly dated. The first floor rooms have recently been refurbished however, and these rooms look very modern if you are lucky enough to get one. - The rest of the rooms are quite spacious with beds that are big and comfortable. - The bathrooms are clean enough with a decent shower although there was limited hot... more

After deciding that Bath would be the perfect location for our civil partnership we did a lot of research to find the best location for the evening dinner and disco. After reading the reviews on Tripadvisor we decided that the Mercure Francis Hotel would be the best choice. It is true that many of the rooms are still awaiting a... more

We stayed at the Francis 2/3 May 2008. We found the hotel to be quite comfortable but in desperate need of a makeover. The lounge was very worn and dated. They have redecorated the bar area, which wasn't very comfortable, but the decor was completely out of character with the beautiful Georgian building. The breakfast was very good, with a... more

My wife and family all stayed at The Francis and was incredibly well received. The hotel was conveniently placed in the center of town and everything there is to see in bath is accessible from there. We have been to England before but this was our first time in Bath, we absolutely fell in love with the city to the... more

5 ladies of a certain age (over 30) stayed at the mercure in Bath for a shopping weekend and thoroughly had a great time. Fantastic location for the shops and staff really friendly (even when we arrived back at the hotel at 2.00am in the morning a little worse for wear). more
