UPSIDE: Great location. Plenty of character Nice rooms (Newly decorated privilege rooms). Rooms spotlessly clean and well serviced. Generally, really friendly and attentive staff. DOWNSIDE: A certain staff member that is obviously disenchanted with the hospitality industry. Expensive parking fees, especially for residents. Poor room ventilation, necessitating opening windows (traffic noise from A4 outside the window). Would we stay again?... More

We came back yesterday from a one-night stay in Bath, and we stayed at this hotel. Driving around Queens Square, it took us a drive round the square to find it, as all the buildings are built the same, and the hotel doesn't stand out. We upgraded our room to a superior room, and it was lovely. Although we were... More

We stayed here one night for my boyfriends birthday. Very nice hotel, the staff are fabulous, breakfast was great and the room was lovely with very comfy bed. The location is fantastic, very central with easy walking distance to high street and the bath spa. More

We wanted to spend just over 24 Hours in Bath and chose the Mercure Francis hotel because of its city centre location and car parking availability. The car park is at the rear of the hotel and is available on a "first come first served " basis and cost us £15 for the stay; well worth it for convenience and peace... I went to stay here for my five year anniversary with my partner. He actually ended up proposing! (I of course said yes) the hotel were really accommodating, we had a really nice room and there were flowers my fiancé organised for my arrival. The only downside was the room was right next to the stairs and there was a... More

The only reason this hotel doesn't score a 5 is because of the poor heating system in the room. The outside temperature was 2ºC and the large room had only 2 tiny old fashion radiators. The Air conditioning was out of order. More
