Sorry but this hotel is just not good enough. It was hot outside but not a patch on the temps in my room. The aircon simply doesn't work and it's pathetic to advertise the hotel as having air conditioned rooms. Bathroom reasonable. The televisions were tiny and ancient, no teletext. Beds reasonable but old. Breakfast good. There must be a... more

Stayed at the Mecure for 1 night, was in an excellent location walking distance to everything. The rooms were a bit dated however they were clean and tidy. The staff were helpful and polite. The parking fee was unexpected and it would be nice if they had staff to help people out of the car park with luggage. Overall had... more

This hotel, as others have said, is in an excellent location. You couldn't ask for better. True, the parking fee is a bit high but that's to be expected at city hotels. We had a refurbished room which was of good size and which had a very nice bathroom. Unfortunately, we had several poor experiences. My husband walked through the... more

I booked rooms here for a group for 4 nights at the end of May. I was a bit concerned given the content of some of the reviews here. Granted, we didn't come by car so the parking setup didn't concern us. But we all stayed in the un-refurbished rooms, and they were just fine! There's a nice old fashioned... more

Its situated in the heart of bath so we were able to park our car and walk to everything. Our room was lovely and bathroom was big. Delicious Breakfast served in an elegant dining room with a window to the street. My husband and I felt like a King and Queen. Elegant sitting rooms with views to the street. Great... more

We stayed at this hotel for two nights at the end of May/start of June 2009 and it was great. It is a great location and right in the centre. The hotel staff are very nice and all of our requests were dealt with quickly and promptly. I wouldn't fault this hotel. Some people have commented on the £10 parking... more

Having recently stayed at the Mercure Francis in Bath, I would like to say that this hotel provides a perfect base for visiting all the attractions and restaurants in Bath. The room was clean and the attention to service was excellent. Breakfast in the smart restaurant is top quality and really sets you up for the day. I can highly... more

Over the last 11 years we have stayed at this hotel regularly, and it is always a fantastic treat to go back. There are still many of the same members of staff there which proves what a happy place this is - its reflected in the ambience, atmosphere and the personal and friendly service provided. On one occasion we arrived... more

Have just spent two nights at the Francis and overall were rather disappointed. This hotel is in a wonderful location, but that is all that is wonderful about it. Firstly the rooms. Do not be fooled by the lovely photographs of the rooms. I'm sure there are some rooms that look like this, but ours did not resemble it in... more
