After reading a few reviews about The Winsor i was a bit sceptical, but as soon as we enters we had a very nice welcome from the staff. The room was lovely (Winsor Room - Four Poster Bed) and we made the most of room service for breakfast, I recommecd the Eggs Benedict, outstanding!! Close to some lovely bars and... More

On arrival looked promising but went downhill from there. My husband phoned The Windsor to confirm booking in time. We arrived roundabout 2.15pm to be told after we had checked in that a bag of laundry was still by our room door(staff sickness) and our "free "breakfast was only for continental, anything else was extra £130 for a room and... Having read reviews after booking was a little anxious about our forthcoming stay, we need not have been. We were reassured to receive a welcoming email a couple of days prior to visit full of useful information from parking to local restaurants. On arrival we could not fault our welcome and all subsequent dealings with the various staff were friendly,... More

Having read the reviews I was a little sceptical however the room we stayed in was very nicely decorated with expensive throws and cushions leading to a classy feel. Yes, it was at the top of the hotel with 3 flights of stairs, but that is part of the hotel charm. The continental breakfast was delicious and more than enough.... More

Overall a very disappointing hotel. The rooms were tired and in need of re-decoration, the phone did not work and nor did the air conditioning. The breakfast was appalling and I was horrified to find out it was extra on top of the £225 for the room! When we ordered cooked breakfast it was cold. I definitely would not recommend... More

Totally agree with Ed V that the Windsor didn't worth the money! The room and bathroom are deteriorated with very old furniture and not like those on their website. Breakfast is just continental which not even include simple eggs/sausages. You have to pay extra for fried eggs/sausages given it charged over 200 per nite. The telephone is not working as well... Stayed here twice now, firstly as a couple and then, with our two young children. Overall, it is a friendly hotel with staff who are always happy to help. The first room we stayed in had a lovely view of the street outside and everything was as we expected, clean, comfortable and quiet (lovely four poster bed). The second time... More

After reading mixed reviews, I visited this hotel with an open mind. From the moment we checked in, the staff couldn't have been more helpful! The receptionist who greeted us (Lissa) was happy to answer any questions we had and made us feel incredibly welcome. My girlfriend and I stayed in the Victoria room on the top floor. The room... Friendly staff and the hotel is close to the city centre. Unfortunately for the price we were very disappointed. The room and bathroom were not particularly clean (certainly nowhere near a 4-5* standard) and when we arrived there were no towels, the telephone in the room didn't work and the air conditioning was malfunctioning. The room and hotel in general... More

Clean, classy and incredibly friendly hotel, a stone's throw from the rugby ground and a short walk from the city centre. Would recommend to anyone! We stayed right at the top in Pulteney and had a beautiful view of the Georgian rooftops. Staff were very welcoming and smiley, and very happy for us to leave our suitcase with them before... More
