We stayed at Dukes when we went to the Rugby. Fantastic location. Could see the rec from the window. Wonderful room. Large and airy with stunning furniture. The staff were friendly and very helpful. This hotel was a real treat to stay in. Only problem was the 6 flights of stairs to our room but soon got used to that! more

Absolutely beautiful hotel, lovely decor, friendly staff. Complimentary upgrade to a four poster suite upon arrival and the manager was very helpful as we had never been to Bath before and he gave us a good insight into the attractions. Excellent value for the surroundings, delicious breakfast in the Cavendish Restaurant, and a short walk away from the town centre... more

We stayed here for 2 nights when attending a wedding at nearby Priston. Check-in went smoothly and my travelling companions room was upgraded to a suite, free of charge. I was shown to a very nice room on the 3rd floor (NO lift!). We had supper in the restaurant on the first night which was very nice. I felt the... more

We had a very enjoyable 3 night break at Dukes hotel in August. All the members of staff we spoke to were extremely friendly and helpful – both when booking the break and during our stay. We were made to feel very welcome Dukes is an elegant Georgian townhouse and, in keeping with that, most of the bedrooms are traditionally... more

Really nice situation in historic street, lovely building, nice rooms, no problems parking, generally friendly helpful staff apart from my breakfast order taken one morning whilst at the buffet, also inconsistent maid service, toiletries were never replaced and the base of the shower screen was filthy. Somewhat disappointed considering its rating on this site. IMO this is not really an... more

We arrived on an early flight from Newcastle, getting into Bath at about 9am having been up since 5am. I'd emailed the hotel manager earlier in the week to let him know of our arrival time (to check we could leave our bags - I knew check-in time was much later in the day). When we arrived we were greeted... more

My girlfriend and I travelled to Bath for her birthday and decided to find a hotel on our arrival rather than pre-booking. We therefore visited Baths’ Tourist Information Centre and read through their Hotel Guides and of all those available, Dukes Hotel seemed to standout for us. We headed off their and were met by the Hotels Reception Manager, Mike... more

The only bad thing we could say about this hotel is that the bathroom was very tired. Parking in Bath, like any historic city in the country, is not easy, but The Dukes have thought of that, as they supply parking permits for the local streets, making parking painless. The decor of the building is lovely, and very historic, which... more
