My husband and I stayed at Dukes on the weekend of our wedding. The room we stayed in, the Norfolk Room, was absolutely beautiful, exquisitely decorated and very comfortable and well-appointed. We used the hotel bar and patio area for our wedding lunch, supplying most of the food and drink ourselves; the staff were extremely helpful in setting everything up... More

I recently stayed here with my wife and we were very well looked after. The accommodation was bright, spacious, well-stocked and exceptionally clean. Breakfast was excellent with lots of choice. Location-wise it was ideally placed and within easy walking distance of the town and restaurants. Importantly, parking was provided. Overall, we were delighted with our stay and would highly recommend... More

From the moment we arrived, every single thing about our stay at Dukes was perfect – there’s not a single negative I can think of. We stayed in the Wellington Suite and even though it looks quite old fashioned in some pics, the room was just beautiful, decorated in a Georgian style, bright and airy, with a ridiculously comfy big... We stayed here for one night on the way down to Padstow to explore Bath. This hotel had such good recommendations and rightly so. On a wonderful road, 5 mins direct walk into the centre. We found a parking space close by and were given a permit which is a big bonus. The hotel is very traditional but within keeping... More

We stayed at Dukes for three nights this week. We've been to Bath before together as a couple and separately with friends but this was the BEST time. Dukes is soooo welcoming! The staff and owners ensured our suite was welcoming and clean. That each breakfast was delicious . That tables were found in the restaurants we wanted to eat... More

Bath is a unique city. Just glorious. The hotel was a typically grand Edwardian mansion. We had a nice room on the first floor. The room was spacious and clean; and the bathroom was luxurious. The breakfast was excellent. It must have cost a lot to stay but it was worth it. A positive experience.

Delighted to hear that your ‘breakfast was excellent’ and ‘bathroom was luxurious’. Overlooking Great Pulteney Street, arguably the finest Georgian boulevard in Northern Europe, Dukes is a 5 minute level stroll into the heart of Bath. As you note a ‘unique city’ ‘just glorious’. With thanks. More

Stayed here with my partner to celebrate our first year of being together and really pleased we chose Duke's. As other reviewers have mentioned, the staff were friendly above & beyond the call of duty. Seriously professional & helpful. There is such an air of welcome & calm that we relaxed as soon as we were shown our room (Argyle)... More

Thank you for the ‘highly recommended’ commendation and very pleased that you found us a ‘blissful retreat’. Sorry that the décor was a slight distraction. Dukes is an antique Georgian property, over 200 years old, with Grade 1 listing. We have an ongoing campaign of repair, refurbishment and repainting. We met with our decorator in July – redecoration is scheduled... More

I would recommend Dukes without a moment's hesitation. As a couple, we've tended to stay in more modern, conventional hotels but I'd return to Dukes every time. The staff our brilliant, so helpful and attentive. The rooms are much bigger than you would expect in a modern hotel and the whole of the hotel is decorated in keeping with the... More

Thank you for the wholehearted recommendation. The Athol ‘four poster’ room is a lovely, very impressive space. Wonderful high ceilings with large sash windows overlooking Great Pulteney Street – truly a Georgian experience. We offer 17 unique rooms, four posters, suites and rooms; many options to meet a variety of budgets and needs. Many thanks. More

Lovely hotel with a great location. The staff could not have been more helpful- they made reservations, gave great recommendations, and even printed maps off for us. All the staff were very knowledgeable and could not have been friendlier. The breakfast room was beautiful! And the food was wonderful. Our room was on the smaller side and a little quainter... More

Thank you for the very generous applause. As you experienced first-hand, Dukes resides within two substantial Grade 1 listed Georgian townhouses. We have no lift or elevator. However our reception team are available from ‘early till late’ and will willingly talk you through our 17 unique rooms, suites and four-posters and readily identify those rooms that best meet a guests... My husband and I stayed in the four poster room. It was beautifully decorated, true to its period and very comfortable. Breakfast was excellent, owners and staff friendly and welcoming. A real gem, centrally located, easy to walk into town, worth a stay!
