What better place to stay in Bath than on the venerable Great Pulteney Street, in a stunning period hotel? The Dukes is well located, a short stroll from the heart of the city and its major attractions. Our room was large and very comfortable, with a lovely view of the surrounding hillside, and well worth the climb up three long... More

As you note we have no elevator – unfortunately we are precluded from introducing one, given our Grade 1 listed distinction. Please do not hesitate in giving our reception a call; we will willing explain all the rooms along with their shortcomings. Based on your requirements we will endeavour to help you select the most suitable room available. Delighted that... More

Had a wonderful stay - was nice to get a parking pass as a lot of other reviewers noted. One of the best touches was that while we arrived way before check in, we were able to park the car, leave our bags and then walk a short distance to start to check out the sights. By the time we... More

We stayed here for two nights to attend a wedding. Having never been to Bath, I looked for a hotel within walking distance of the train station and centre of town. Dukes is perfect for both. The staff are lovely; helpful and very accommodating. Nothing is too much trouble. Breakfast was outstanding. The produce is all sourced either locally or... More

Our ‘black pudding’ is arguably the finest available in the UK having won numerous awards. We pride ourselves on offering a ‘best in class’ cooked to order breakfast. Delighted that your wedding visit was a complete success and that you have a library of wonderful photos and happy memories. Many thanks. More

We have stayed here before and will keep on returning whilst they keep on delivering the best hotel experience in Bath. This time we stayed with friends who loved it so much they suggested it to their friends who were planning the Royal Crescent. Suggest that you go for the bigger suites as they are phenomenal in comfort and decor.... More

Thank you – our suites and four poster rooms are indeed very good ‘value for money’ as the rooms are substantially larger for only a ‘few pounds more ’. Thank you for the ‘probably the best in Bath’ accolade!! More

The hotel is one of those great heritage buildings within walking distance of all the top attractions (the spa, the Roman baths, and so on). The room itself was large - I had upgraded to a double room above the "standard" designation - and had all the amenities. There were plenty of outlets to charge devices, and a television both... Thank you for the very positive assertion that you would ‘definitely’ come back. As you note our bar is a ‘quiet room’ more suited to a small gathering of friends sharing a pot of tea or a celebratory bottle of bubbles. Bath has such a plethora of smart bars and lively restaurants - we have chosen to focus and deliver... More

Just returned from a 'special' birthday stay at this wonderful hotel. Location couldn't be more perfect, being just 5 minutes walk along the lovely Great Pulteney Street and across Pulteney Bridge into the town centre. Rooms are beautifully appointed and breakfast is delicious and imaginatively presented but what really sets this hotel apart is the team of staff, who are... More

Went to the Dukes Hotel in the search for a relaxing weekend in Bath and definitely weren't disappointed. From the moment we walked in the door the staff were unfailingly helpful and really added to making our stay as smooth as possible. We had a double room with four poster bed that was a bit more expensive (the only room... More

As one might expect with two converted Georgian townhouses some of our suites are two or even three times the size of other rooms – hence the variety in rates. However rest assured, all our guests are treated with equal care and attention!! Delighted to read that you found our ‘best in class’ breakfast ‘excellent'. Many thanks. More

Spent 3 nights at Dukes in a large well-appointed room with a lovely view of the hills around Bath. Enjoyed staying in a true Georgian terrace. Breakfast was nicely done in a comfortable room on the lower level. Bath is small and the hotel was within walking distance of everything. Less than 15 mins' walk from the railway station and... Great to hear that you found our location convenient. As you note we assure our guests of excellent Wi-Fi connectivity in reception – where we also offer a complimentary hard wired computer exclusively for guest use – we make clear that in a couple of the rooms connectivity may be unreliable or ‘patchy’ and encourage guests to ‘flag in advance’... I recently arranged a suprise weekend away in Bath for my parents' 60th birthdays. The hotel couldn't have been more helpful if they tried. They happily placed gifts in their suit in preparation for their arrival and kept hold of their luggage after check out. My parents (who are in the cafe trade) were impressed by the breakfast on offer... More

Found this easier than we thought. Lovely welcome and got parked on street close by. Room was good and location is great with most highlights within easy walking distance. Quiet at night so had a good sleep. Breakfast was very good quality with lots of choice.

Many thanks for taking the time to write a review. Our ‘goldilocks’ location – a level 5 minute stroll into the centre, without the city noise and night time hubbub, is indeed a tremendous advantage. We take great pride in our ‘best in class’ cooked to order breakfast – pleased that it met with applause. More
