We stayed at the Dukes Hotel for two nights and found it comfortable with very helpful and friendly staff. Included within the room rate is an excellent cooked breakfast. The room was a standard double room. It was clean and comfortable with an en-suite bathroom. The standard double is on the cosy side but represents very good value. We have... More

Thank you for the ‘thoroughly recommended’ commendation. As you note we have 17 unique bedrooms ranging from our ‘cosy and ‘functional’ standard rooms through to our ‘wow factor’ four poster bedrooms. Delighted that you found our freshly cooked to order breakfast ‘excellent’ and that our location - a majestic 5 minute stroll from the heart of Bath - a pleasurable... More

I stayed at Dukes hotel for 2 nights with my partner for a short break. From the moment we arrived the service was absolutely brilliant. We were able to park very near the hotel using one of their permits which was so convenient. We had a lovely, well equipped standard room on the top floor. We had to climb a... More

Thank you for your absolute commendation!! One of the pleasures of being able to stay within a Grade 1 listed Georgian townhouses is to experience the impressive balustrade stairwell. One may only wonder over those who have ventured up to the attic rooms over the past 225 years!! Many would choose to stay closer to the ground – our reception... More

My partner and I had a wonderful stay at this hotel. The staff could not have been anymore friendly or inviting, I almost felt I was staying in their own home. Parking was easy and the permit allowed us to stay there for the duration of our break. We were in the Montrose room which I chose myself at the... More

We had a perfect three day stay in The Dukes Hotel in February. On arrival, we were offered a complementary upgrade to the Athol Suite, a majestic apartment on the first floor. We loved the enormous scale of the bedroom and four poster bed made the room feel cosy yet regal. The suite was so nicely decorated and furnished, it... More

This elegant but unpretentious hotel offers comfort, friendly and courteous service, delicious breakfasts, and timeless beauty. I can't really think of any drawback except, possibly, the stairs. A short walk to the center of Bath and the staff are eager to advise you on restaurants and things to do in town. One of the best placed I have stayed in... More

Thank you – unpretentious is a good description! As individuals I think we take great pride in Bath and enjoy presenting Dukes at her best, in a welcoming informal way. As you note our Grade 1 listed status precludes us from having a lift – however we have a number of rooms on the ground and more accessible floors. We... More

A friend and I stayed at the Dukes on a visit to the spa in Bath. Everything about the hotel was just perfect. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly. We had a room at the top of the building which was very nice - immaculately clean, beautiful bed linen, nice toiletries and well stocked refreshments. The breakfast was fantastic,... More

Thank you for the ‘highly recommended’ commendation and I am very pleased that you found everything ‘just perfect’. Many of our guests thoroughly enjoy the ‘top floor’ as the rooms have an almost secretive, tucked away feeling. We look forward to welcoming you on your return!! More

Dukes is an excellent hotel located within a 5 minute walk from the city center in a quiet area for a good night sleep. The hotel staff was very helpful, friendly, and concerned about my late arrival in the evening. Plenty options of freshly cooked breakfast, all of them delicious. I stayed in the Argyll room, which was very espacious... More

The Argyll has a lovely southerly aspect, so is often bathed in sunshine. Overlooking the garden terrace and the Somerset hills beyond there is minimal chance of any noise or sleep disruption. Thank you for our ‘excellent’ assessment. More

My sister and I recently stayed at the Duke hotel in Bath. It Is a really friendly and lovely hotel. Rooms are clean and spacious. Breakfast is lovely and to a high standard. It is really close to the city centre and no more than ten mins walk from the restaurants and shops.

Everyone at Dukes was friendly, effecient and professional. The room was a delight and breakfast excellent. Less than 10 minutes from the city centre but in a quiet neighbourhood. Highly recommended. We would definitely stay there again

Stayed here with my partner for her birthday. The room was impeccable. The buccleuch was basically a suite with a 4 poster bed. It had amazing character and high ceilings. The service was beyond amazing. They went the extra mile to try and get me a reservation at a hotel and get me on a waiting list as well as... More

Thank you for sharing your appreciation with us. Dukes stands within two Georgian townhouses, both of which are over 200 years old. We have 17 unique bedrooms rooms of varying sizes; many with impressive high ceilings and vast rattling sash windows. Our Grade 1 listed status precludes the introduction of a lift and so most rooms are accessed via one... More
