Flying visit but some good session ales and variety of others to sample... if we had more time!! Will try to fit this place in earlier than last orders next time we are in Bath. Great seating area as well.

Before coming here and seeing some of the photographs I was a little unsure, however we were given a warm welcome when we turned up and shown up the rickety stairs to our room. Although please don't expect anything amazing the room itself was clean and cozy, there was something just a little unfinished about it, but we couldn't put... More

Stayed for 3 nights as a group of 5 men in 2 twins and a single. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Breakfast and lunch both very good. Beers excellent. Room fine but obviously trying to upgrade over time, very small, no drawers and nowhere to hang clothes. No aircon but a decent fan provided. No tv or radio... More

We stayed here last week. The food was needed after a long and exhausting day, and it was delicious, came quickly, was piping hot and was very fairly priced. The Inn is comfortable to stay in, with new rooms and public areas. All in all, just what we needed.

... and really that's all I want from a hotel. Anything else I'm probably not going to use but I'm certainly going to have to pay for. The Griffin Inn has it just right - just far-enough away from the tourists but close-enough to the centre to be quiet but still convenient. A charming 'lived-in' breakfast room with a super... More

Spent one night with some friends as part of extreme endurance cycling trip. Lovely little pub with friendly staff, nice rooms close to all of Bath's sights. Excellent fish and chips and local ales. DO NOT LEAVE without having the home-made pork scratchings.

I stayed with two friends for a night in late June as part of a cycle tour of the west country. Very helpful and friendly staff, including storing our bikes in the basement. The food is excellent and keen value - try the truffle chips; the inclusive breakfast if you stay is first rate. Our bill for dinner, quite a... More

I stayed in this fun place from17 June to 21 June and with six friends who I've known for a very long time for the last two nights - it was our annual reunion. The Griffin Inn has around since the 1700s so it's full of funny angles, sloping floors, small rooms (it has eight guest rooms above the pub/restaurant... More

GREAT FOOD Who would have thought a tomato, poached egg, and toast, just simple ingredients, could taste so wonderful? Chef Maria made these for me for breakfast when my tummy wasn't feeling so good ... they were great for the palate and my recovery. I went back for lunch and had delicious fish & chips too. GREAT SERVICE Very friendly... More

Our party included a pescitarian and two people seeking more veggies along with several omnivores. All were satisfied by the varied menu. Fish & chips, burgers, pork sandwiches, ratatouille, and soup and salad were consumed and enjoyed. Service was zippy and cordial.
