My friends wedding was amazing. The grounds are beautiful. The staff work so hard and the bar prices are reasonable. We stayed in room 6 on the ground floor and it was very nice. Nice little touches such as water in bottles and a note from the house keeper. The breakfast was yummy. I had fruit and continental and hubby... More

We have visited this hotel on numerous occasions to celebrate family occasions - birthdays, mother's day anniversaries etc. It is always our first choice for special events and we are never disappointed with the service, food or ambience in the hotel. The manager, Malcolm is an absolute delight!! He is always so friendly, welcoming and helpful; he keeps us all... More

We stayed here overnight as our friends got married here. It really is a beautiful place, perfect for a wedding. The wedding took place outside in the manor grounds with champagne served outside and then inside for the wedding meal. The food was great, we had a three course meal and every course was good. Staff were friendly and our... More

Lovely hotel - in two parts - we were in the newer part. Rooms were comfortable but decor looking a little dated now. Old part of hotel was really very quirky with interesting nooks and crannies. Staff had real personality and could not do enough for you. Definitely need a car as hotel is literally in the middle of fields.... More

Stayed overnight for a function. Reception staff and manager exceptionally friendly and helpful. Bar and function staff were ..... functional, but very unfriendly. Food tasted of packet sauce in every option on offer. Dreadful stuff. Drinks prices very expensive. Average price of £7 for a small glass of wine, meaning that they make around £30 for a bottle of cheap... More

Stayed here for an 8 course tasting dinner, wine, bed & breakfast. Food was divine, everything you expect from a top tasting menu. Looked and tasted wonderful. Service was spot-on. Breakfast was outstanding, lots of choice, everything cooked to perfection, The atmosphere in the hall for both meals was delightful, service was top-notch, so well-done to kitchen & restaurant staff.... I booked this hotel as it was 4 star and looked like it would have great characters and because I had driven past it dozensof times over the years. What a disappointment - we stayed in the new block, the corridor of which was smelly (like body odour) as was the room (an open window while we were in town... More

This is a difficult subject to deal with, but the facts are that the odour you refer to was due to a resident with particularly bad odour issues staying in the vicinity of your room, which unfortunately infected many parts of the hotel, we did all we could, hence your window and many others in the hotel were kept open... We got married here on March 27th and words honesty cannot describe what an amazing day and night it was. The staff are top class and couldn't do enough to help and the venue is stunning. We were lucky enough to marry on the lawn and couldn't have asked for a more perfect setting. The food was brilliant from start... More

We attended for a wedding and it was nice enough, the function room was a good size and well laid out, but we felt it was sorely let down by the quality of the food. Soggy crackling, burned green beans, watery gravy and pork that your knife bounced off when you tried to cut it. When I found out how... More
