The hotel is situated in the town centre, a short walk from restaurants and shops. It is slightly difficult to find at first because of the one way system in the town. There are parking places at the hotel, they are cosy and doubled up, so you have to leave your keys if you are blocking someone in, fair enough!... More

We stayed at the Abbots Mead last night, me for the first time, some colleagues have stayed regularly, and I would have no hesitation in recommending the place. The building is tucked down an attractive close near the river and a short walk from all the historic attractions of Shrewsbury. I was in a single room on the 3rd floor... More

Just returned from a weekend stay at Abbots Mead Hotel and I can honestly stay if I were staying in Shrewsbury again, I would not hesitate to return. We went with our 2 dogs (retrievers) and were originally allocated the basement room; however, given the recent spell of bad weather and flooding, we were given another room (number 15), on... More

Really can't think of anywhere we have stayed in the last few years that has been such poor value for money. We booked this hotel based on recent reviews and because it was walking distance to an event we were attending. Our room (15) was very small. The shower room (more a cupboard) was very dated. Old tiles coming away... More

A welcoming family run hotel with a clean comfy room, a tad tight for two. The service was very good and had no problems with the leave the keys parking or the wifi. The location is ideal close to city shops and the river all within short walking distance. Breakfast was excellent. I appreciate these types of friendly escapes over... More

We spent 2 nights here recently and were pleased with the accommodation. Our sat nav had trouble getting us there as there is a one way system in operation and we missed the first turning and had to go right round the town again. There is restricted parking at the front of the hotel, cars had to be parked 2... More

I stayed at Abbots Mead as part of a large group cycling sustrans route 81. At the end of a day in the saddle it's was fine. I would say same as other reviews, the decor is a little old, the room I was in was little small but all I really wanted was a place to crash and recovery... More
