I stayed for two nights in the Teal Room with my wife in May 2015. The over-all experience of the boutique hotel, dining room and bar is rare and enjoyable. As an ancient guild-hall starting in 1485 (if memory serves, the current building, not including a fairly recent rear addition, dates sometimes in the 1500s) it is very rare to... More

First stay and a really good experience. Historic black and white building. It is centrally located so handy for the many delights of Shrewsbury. Service was great, both friendly and efficient. I did't eat in the restaurant but had breakfast there and it is like eating in a stately home. Also had a late night drink in the excellent bar.

The Drapers Hall, tucked away in the centre of Shrewsbury, offers a warm welcome to the weary traveller, shopper and reveller. It manages to merge its fascinating history with everything a 21st traveller would expect. The staff are unfailingly friendly and helpful. We stayed overnight and enjoyed the comfort of one of their small suites, high up in the attic.... More

Both hotel and restaurant are beautiful, set in a period property with all its features retained, next to St Marys church, very central. Bar and restaurant are certainly popular, the food is delicious! My room was great as well, very comfy bed, all the facilities I need and super friendly staff to boost plus fast WiFi. Can wholly recommend it.

We booked this hotel last minute so didn't really know what to expect but we were delighted with this olde world Restaurant with rooms. We stayed in the Orange Room which was very comfortable. Only down side for us was the chiming of the church bells every hour. We are quite light sleepers so this did disturb us but apart... More

We saw good reviews for the restaurant, so during our recent visit to Shrewsbury, we decided to book dinner for my husband's birthday. It was a Saturday night and it was busy. We were greeted warmly, and the staff were extremely friendly. We started off with some lovely warm rolls, before my husband had the smoked pigeon...delicious...and I had the... More

Stayed in the deluxe lime suite which I booked without really looking at the description. It is more of an aparment rather than a suite as it has a kitchen area that could be used for meals. Chairs in the lounge are poor but the bed was very comfortable, tv's were smaller than I usually find in rooms as well.... More

Spent an night in the Gold Room and was plesantly surprised by the very clean and elegant room. Thought had clearly gone into meeting the needs of the guests. Slept ok but would have preferred a harder bed. Way too soft for me! Ate in the restaurant in the evening and had a mixed meal. Partner's dinner was sublime whilst... More

Stayed here in this fantastic hotel with enormous historic interest. I'll start with the location. It is situated in the centre of Shrewsbury which is an extremely attractive town. Well worth a weekend visit. It looks fantastic from the outside and this is maintained inside. Rooms gorgeous and staff very helpful. The evening meal was sublime and breakfast to suit.
