Having just held our daughter's wedding reception at The Lion & Pheasant Hotel we can only highly commend the staff for their exceptional service not only at the wedding breakfast but during the whole day. The food was delicious, guests were offered a choice of meals for the 3 course wedding breakfast (not usual for weddings), the evening buffet too... More

Once you can get through the exceedingly narrow entrance to the car-park behind the hotel, everything improves quickly! The staff were efficient and pleasant - exceptionally so - and the room was very comfortable. The highlight of the stay was the evening meal which was very good indeed, offering quality, choice and sufficient quantity to please any reasonable person! We... More

Thanks for your review , we're happy to hear you enjoyed your stay with us , the narrow entrance is the original entrance that the horses and stage coaches used to enter the hotel , we can't widen it as it is a national monument ! Care is required if you are driving into our car park or there is... More

Our 2nd time here and really enjoyed it. From friendly check in to a lovely room with super bed, sheets and towels. Breakfast excellent too with great healthy choice and good selection of cooked as well. Gave it 5 as it did everything very well, free parking albeit with a narrow entrance and free wifi Great location on edge of... More

My only complaint was a list of charges in the room, apparently if you nicked stuff..Hairdryer £ 25, damage to bed £400.... All a bit strange. The prices are not cheap, therefore the type of guests they attract are not interested in nicking the ordinary hair dryer.

Living in Birmingham that - "let's meet in the middle", remark along with a one night Easter break stay at the L+P, was my suggestion to friends in Manchester. It was an inspired choice for us all. The dinner, bed & breakfast booking made via Mr&Mrs Smith came with a free cocktail each to get us chilled for a lovely... More

This hotel is AMAZING. Just what you would expect from Mr & Mrs Smith. Stayed over the easter weekend to see family in Shrewsbury and I cannot fault anything about it. - truly fantastic location in the centre of Shrewsbury, parking is a little scant but there is an NCP car park over the road which is very cheap (compared... Great hotel. Great location for everything you need. The breakfast was the best I have had. Could not fault this place. Will be back. Only problem is that it is a little overpriced but not to much. Would recommend to anyone who is looking for a hotel in Shrewsbury.

We stayed overnight on a 5 taster menu and breakfast option. The room was a cosy double. It was very clean and bright with enough for all we needed. Décor was contemporary. Being a period building it was unable to have double glazing, hence the room was noisy being on the roadside, but credit to the hotel, they do provide... More

Arrived to a smile at reception. Quick check in, asked if we had stayed before ...offered help with the area. Room warm comfortable, all the little things were thought of, earplugs in the side draws. Did not need them because the sheets and bed was soooo comfortable. Tasting menu delicious in the restaurant. Even in ladies toilet had sanitary wear.... More
