A comfortable small hotel for an overnight stay in the very interesting town that is Shrewsbury. The rooms our family had are small and so therefore are the en suites. Not a hotel for the hot weather - rooms get very warm and no air con..The hotel is clean and owners pleasant and helpful. Breakfast is fine, well cooked and... More

My husband and I stayed 5 days at Sandford House Hotel in late March and thoroughly enjoyed everything about it. Our octagonal shaped room overlooking the garden was lovely and extremely comfortable. Breakfast was delicious. The owner/host couldn't have been nicer. He directed us to the best restaurants and pubs in town and filled us in on the interesting history... More

My friend and I stayed here at the weekend with our 2 playful dogs, and what a great find it was next to the river and park so there was no problem for a walking the dogs. We were in the Garden building which is great for access to the park and so quiet, Mr Richards was so helpful and... More

Booked this for the recent Bike 4 Life Charity run and found it to be a great little place. Checked in no problem and was even asked if I wanted to park my motorbike around the back in the garden so it wasn't on the street. Room was big and breakfast was excellent. No complaints with the bed or pillow... More

I stayed here with my other half for one night - what an absolute gem of a find! We received a warm welcome, and nicer still was how fresh and clean the whole place was. The lillies in reception smelled amazing and this wafted right up to the other floors. Our room (number 6) was on the second floor; the... More

Booked in with Biking friends for the 2014 Planet Rock "Bike4Life" run from Meole Brace to RAF Cosford on 27th April. Very helpful, with all motorcycles securely stored on the rear patio - nice rooms, lots of info for our short stay overnight - a few beers and a brilliant Indian, full english breakfast and we were set up for... The real plus is the location if you want to walk into Shrewsbury itself and the local car park rates were quite reasonable. The room itself was spacious but despite turning heating off and opening windows rather too hot for my liking. Needed some attention e.g new basin in bathroom, better shower, bigger towels. Breakfast between 8 and 9 which... More

We stayed here over the last weekend and had a great time, the room we had was large and spotlessly clean , breakfast was cooked to order and plentiful. Me Richards was a great help with restaurants and the Corn House was delicious, parking no problem we are coming back again before Christmas

We stayed here at the end of June for a weekend break to explore Shrewsbury. The parking to the hotel was close, a very short walk. The hotel was clean and friendly and we used the leaflets at reception for our walks. The town centre was easily accessible and close which was great. Breakfast was plentiful. Enjoyable stay, the only... More

A very unfriendly and unhelpful owner with an attitude bordering on racist. Rooms in a dire need of cleaning and refurbishment. Breakfast served between 8-9 during weekend and with very poor service. Otherwise nice weekend spoiled by the hotel experience. Location Ok if not travelling by car otherwise very difficult to find parking space. I would absolutely not recommend the... More
