Boyfriend and I spent a Friday night at the Sandford House Hotel with our friends as we were having a pre-Christmas night out in Shrewsbury. We arrived Friday evening, drove around the stress that is Shrewsbury and parked in the rotting and mouldy NCP car park over the road, as the hotel has no parking for guests. From the outside,... Have stayed at Sandford House many times over the years and have always found it to be a quiet, friendly and welcoming place. It is centrally located and is a short ten minute walk from the centre of Shrewsbury. Ideally located. Occasionally Shrewsbury can get a bit lively, but this is the exception rather than the rule and is to... More

Lots of external noise into early hours outside, thin walls and noisy plumbing inside. Dated bed and breakfast type establishment. Card reader not working so had to pay cash. Would not stay here again, started this review at 3am, kept wake by all the shouting and noise from people walking past outside and pub over the road. Noise from taps,... More

Spent a Friday night here our room was clean and comfortable and there was very little noise from the surrounding pubs and restaurants. The location is very good for shopping eating and drinking, plus you can access the footpath that runs along the banks of the River Severn, if you decide to take a stroll along this path head towards... The hotel is quite dated but very clean, its in a pretty good location with a pub across the road and an Indian restaurant next door. For what we had (Room 4) twin room for £70 for a Wednesday evening was not great value. Poor Breakfast as well, no beans offered or anything else for that matter, you had what... More

Good old fashioned hotel. Bed comfortable and lovely shower and bathroom. Man who ran it was very helpful about parking and recommending restaurant.Location convenient although a little difficult to find. Breakfast OK but nothing to write home about. Would go again though.

My girlfriend was singing in Meifod at the Eisteddfod and progressed to the stage following her prelim success. We needed somewhere to stay overnight and after trawling the internet on our limited phone signal, we found this little gem. We set off having booked 2 rooms via our phone, and when we arrived we were met by the owner (we... More
