The Lucroft is excellently situated in the center of Shrewsbury. The staff are really friendly and the guesthouse is very clean, with tea and coffee making facilities. As you would expect from a central position it can be noisy at nighttime but it didn't spoil my sleep too much. All in all a lovely enjoyable stay. I would definitely recommend... More

Just spent a night here, great value room with en suite, host was very friendly and welcoming. English fry up breakfast was good also had cereals, toast, fresh fruit and yoghurts available. The location was great short walk from long stay car park and train station.

I had read early reviews and was alarmed as I had already booked. First of all it's a Guesthouse not an Hotel. The room we had 6 was spotlessly clean.Bed linen and towels freshly laundered. Lady in charge could not have been more helpful. Breakfast was well worth the price asked. Liked the extra touch you could have as much... More

The hotel is up for sale and it shows. We had a family room. The carpet was grubby the room needed to be redecorated . There was a broken pane of glass in the window. The spare blanket was in a plastic bag on top of the cupboard and it was so dusty I could write on it. The ensuite was... More

Lucroft was comfortable, inexpensive and situated within easy walking distance of the town centre . Staff were obliging and helpful. However we were in Room 6, adjacent to the corridor's fire door, and sleep quality was impaired. Breakfasts were tasty though a bit Spartan.

Prior to visiting I'd emailed the hotel who were very helpful regarding parking and we also had good service throughout our stay. The hotel is in a great location, although blink and you will miss the entrance! We stayed with friends and had a really good afternoon and evening in the towns bars and restaurants. The problem occurred when we... More

Housed on the upper floors of a Tudor style building, this guest house has an attractive exterior and is centrally located for shopping, restaurant and bars. It also is reasonably priced and less than the Premier Inn around the corner. The bed was comfortable with crisp clean linen, tea, coffee and biscuits and kettle provided, also towels. However the macerating... More

We stayed one night after Easter for visiting friends. It is very conveniently situated near the train station though we did struggle to find it as it is above shops. We had a fantastic check in and very welcoming. She even offered to carry our cases. We had a single and twin room booked. The rooms were clean and tidy... More

Ai interesting listed guest house offering bed and breakfast accommodation. Well situated, great value, excellent breakfast, charming & helpful owner. I travelled by train & it was a great place from which to explore Shrewsbury & the surrounds.

Shrewsbury is a very interesting town and if you visit it, you should think of a place to live in - that is comfortable, close to everything and will not spoil your holiday experience, and Lucroft is your choice. I am really glad I decided to select this place. Best price/quality ratio, beautiful old timbered building, 1 minute to Castle,... More
