Very good location for all the local attractions and a great position overlooking the ironbridge but such a shame that a grand, beautiful building like the Tontine should be allowed to fall into such disrepair. We stayed in a family room no 11 at the top of the building, it was dingy, dirty and downright dangerous if you have small... More

We had a great Sunday carvery in here today. The best value for money in the area !! really good selection of meats and veg.The meat is not cut wafer thin like many other places.Everything hot and served with a smile and a quirkey sense of humour from Nick the owner. It was good to see that the place is being... More

This is a very old building, granted, however, we have stayed in older with exquisite facilities and overall quality. This hotel does boast a great location, that is where it ends. Everywhere we saw suffered with major damp. The room was tatty, staples holding the wallpaper up on the ceiling, bath panel hanging out, skirting board hanging off the wall.... More

Stayed a night. When I arrrived, the barman didn't offer to take my rucksack to my room (though I am 71 and using a stick). Reception a bit sketchy. Rather petty 'rule' re no food in room - even a sarnie which I happened to have - I agree with another reviewer that though breakfast was good, it wasn't easy... More

1 night stay with my wife and 6 year old daughter. Family room. Needs really updating , not been cleaned this side of 2014 apart from bed linen. Cob webs everywhere......more so in the bathroom. Breakfast was a help yourself ......if u can find a plate. Coffee and tea urn ran out of water , and was stale when attempting... More

First problem is parking, hotel is next to a small public car park but at weekends is full, you can park on the other side of the bridge which is less than 5 mins walk. Hotel has seen better days and needs updateing, Breckfast is full English and is fine. Best thing about hotel is the location, good view of... More

this is the best place to stay for the veiw it is at the end of the bridge-you cant get any closer!! the hotel itself is very old (built a year or so after the bridge! so yes its showing its age but thats part of the attraction /history the rooms are adequate ,clean and on suite-the toilet is noisy... On our way home from London we decided to try here for lunch. Good move, couldn't have had anything better. The barman was friendly, I ordered gammon, eggs and chips and my wife had cold ham, eggs and chips. The food was delicious and presented well. The draught beer was excellent as well. What else could you possibly want. Will... More

Stayed overnight as attending a wedding in the area. Arrived around two o'clock, and booked in fine, and given the parking pass I had requested when booking as I know what Ironbridge parking is like. As said it is an old hotel and our room was on the second floor and there is no lift which is fine for us... More

The pictures of this hotel look good, it's location is superb. We arrived at around 17:30 and a surly young woman asked for our name, apparently , she had never heard the words please or thank you before and questioned us in between reading the text messages on her phone, then disappeared to take some food through to the eating...
