My husband and I have just returned from a really enjoyable 3 day break in the Ironbridge Gorge staying at the Shakespeare Inn in coalport village. The Inn was excellent, the rooms very clean and tidy, spacious with lots facilities more like a small apartment and each room had its own seperate entrance so no need to go through the pub!(great if you have children) The inn is very quiet during the day as they open at 5pm weekdays noon at weekends. All the staff are very friendly, welcoming and nothing is too much trouble. Food is excellent and you certainly wont go hungry as the portions are huge!
The village is very quiet peaceful and picturesque. Nearby (walking distance) are the Tar Tunnel,Coalport China Museum and Blist Hill Victorian Town, for other attractions you need a car although we walked to Ironbridge along a woodland Path but its about 3 miles so be warned!
I would recommend a visit to Ironbridge ,you need 3 days to see it all and there are other attractions nearby...
