Never before have we had the option of having fresh milk in our room for the complimentary tea/ coffee tray. Neither have we had the complimentary port in our room!! Its the simple things mean the most. Our room was in the newer part of the building on the ground floor, had a warm and cosy feeling to the room.... More

I have eaten there many times and it is the second time we have stayed there but it certainly will not be the last!! It is a beautiful hotel and the whole experience is amazing. The staff are very friendly and professional. The room was... More

We booked this night away having seen a special offer through 'Saga'. The food was excellent; we chose what we wanted on the dinner menu (an allowance of £35 per person being more than adequate as we can rarely manage 3 courses these days) and we could choose what we wanted from the cooked breakfast. The accomodation most very comfortable and... On arrival we were surprised to find we were allocated a room in the modern wing which, as their website displays mainly the historic building, took us by surprise. However due to problem with this room the duty manager Jak, without any hesitation, moved us to a room in the old part which was absolutely wonderful. He really is an... More

My husband is also my carer and I like to treat him with dinner and breakfast like he does for me every other day. This hotel is very wheelchair friendly the disabled rooms are great and the bathroom is ideal. 1 fault I did have to pay an extra £20 for the adapted room but it was worth it for... More

Stayed here for my birthday for 1 night and it was great. It's a local hotel so not far to travel! Beautiful old historic building set in lovely gardens with a lake. Warm welcome at reception and efficient checkin. Had a drink in the beautiful old bar and many people were enjoying a stroll around the gardens even though it... More

It was the fourth time we have stayed at Christmas and we can't fault the place. The facilities, food and service are very good. We'll be visiting again next Christmas and would recommend it to anyone.

A friendly smile and a warm welcome are always a sign that the front of house has got it right, this hotel manages to provide these throughout the establishment. A return visit again highlighted the quality of the hotel, its management and staff. Slightly off the beaten track but worth the effort. A good restaurant means you dont have to... More
