A family get together was our reason for making a booking. The rooms are above the pub and next to a main road, with tram! However traffic noise and pub business did not prevent a good night's sleep. Breakfast was excellent, as was the welcome and the service. (Beer was good too!) All in all a great deal all round.

My stay at the Hillsborough Hotel on Wednesday 15th of April 2015, was quite exceptional. This day each year is quite upsetting for me personally, with it being the anniversary of the Hillsborough Disaster, which took place just a mile up the road at Hillsborough Stadium, Sheffield, when 96 innocent men, women and children lost their lives before the FA... Clean, comfortable room. Large bathroom, comfortable bed. Good breakfast, friendly, helpful staff. Good beer. Good location for city centre and walking along Sheffield and Tinsley canal. Bedding was fresh and clean. Free Wi-Fi.

Thanks a Living Social voucher this was my first visit to Hillsborough Hotel. A traditional pub, clean tidy and comfortable. We enjoyed a pint of Wood Street stout that was brewed on the premises then sat in the conservatory and listened to the lovely lady brewer explain the history, workings and products of the Wood Street Brewery. Four shot glass... More

Clean, basic and comfortable room. We're not expecting a 5* hotel. Breakfast was nice. It did It's job. The pub has It's own micro brewery and the beers are very nice. Staff are very welcoming and polite. Will certainly return when in the area.

We stayed at this hotel for 1 night this week the room was large and cleAn , beds reasonably comfy the only bad thing about the room was there wasn't any heating and it was extremely cold. The English breakfast was adequAte but the coffee was very weak. The manager was very pleasant and friendly. We were in a room... More

We stayed in room 2 for one night. The room and bathroom were small but very clean. The bed was very uncomfortable for us; the mattress felt past its best. The noise from the trams literally right outside the hotel was annoying but we knew about it on booking. The staff were very friendly and breakfast was good. For under... More

We have been to the Hillsborough a few times now and it has easily become or new favourite! Good beer (my husband is partial to real ale), very good prices on food. Two meals for a fiver at lunchtimes during the week and two for a tenner most other times. The staff are really friendly and nothing is too much... More

We arrived at the Hillsborough before check-in time and they were kind enough to let us into our room before 2pm. It is within walking distance of Sheff Weds football club and the greyhound track and casino. It was fit for purpose but there are certainly no frills and the shower in our room was from the 70's I think.... More

The Hillsborough Hotel is above the Wood Street brewery and parking is on the side street. We left our car there throughout our stay (without problems) and used the tram (£4 day ticket) to get around. The welcome from the Hotel could not have been warmer and all the staff were friendly and helpful. The room was comfortable if a... More
