The hostel is in a nice and tranquil place, not far away from the city centre. Yet, my experience was not as expected. I had booked a single room for two nights, but upon arrival I was told that there had been overbooking and a couple would arrive on the next day, so the single, with double bed, was for... More

Looks OK from the outside, got checked in straight away which was great, friendly guy who helped us. But my room was awful (downstairs double, No2) huge patches of damp on the back walls which also meant the room stank of damp. Stains/marks on the sheets, obviously old, but worst of all my pillow smelt of dirty hair! No fresh... More

despite what you might read on here this place is not too bad. okay so you're not going to bring the wife and kids for your main holiday. the mess and bad smells you read about on here didn't match with our experience, okay its basic but what do you expect for that kind of money? the rooms and common... Good location on bus and tram routes (although the tram was not running the weekend I stayed, due to engineering works), free basic breakfast, just cereal and tea and coffee, in the social kitchen area. Nice that tea and coffee making facilities are available. Bedrooms could do with wardrobes or hooks on the wall to hang your clothes up, and... More

The staff was very nice and helpful. I really loved the kitchen for self-catering. You can make Coffee or tea the whole day or just sit with others there. Use of the shower is tricky because of short "warm water periods" but it works and bathrooms are neat and well cleaned. I felt very comfortable.

I didn't read the reviews before I visited because I don't like to have preconceived ideas. I read the hostel description on the booking site and knew to expect a bit of an older, less well maintained place, outside of town and that is what we got. The other guests were friendly, the staff were friendly and helpful, the breakfast... More

It's a pity that a hostel run by such nice people should be so bad. We had no heating in our room for the first night of a three night stay and only partial heating for the other two nights. The staff gave us extra duvets and this helped. There was a damp patch running from ceiling to floor (suggesting... More

I booked for 3 nights and left after forcing myself to stay for 2! I've stayed in quite a few hostels in the past and this was the worst - even worse than the one in Thailand that was currently at the top of my list! The room was shabby (acceptable for a hostel) but was also dirty (not acceptable),... More

I failed the first rule of travel - always check the reviews before booking. I have stayed in other hostels around the world but this one did not live up to expectations. It was almost depressing in its meagreness and need of update. The rooms are sparse and bedding barely adequate for early October. The lack of common room or... More

Good for value, in need of some decoration,, friendly staff when present, more suited to people under 30, up a steep hill , could do with a tv available, no common room just dining room, bit out of the way and hard to find
