The welcome was warm and the house is attractive. Also very quiet which is a real plus. We were however shocked to find blankets on the bed and not a duvet. Not pleasant. We had read reviews abut the wonderful breakfast but can't say it was. Bacon dry and egg yolk solid. No choice at all. Pretty good value for... More

Stayed here for one night whilst visiting someone in hospital (10 mins walk away). Owners very obliging and helpful, allowed us to leave our car here all day whilst we caught bus into city centre. Convenient, quiet location in all respects, for university, hospitals and city centre. Breakfast was very tasty and served promptly at our chosen time.Tiny shower room... More

Mandy is a perfect host and cooks an excellent breakfast which is served promptly to suit you. The rooms are comfortable and all the beds are new. Restaurants in Broomhill and Crookes are close by so you can enjoy a drink and walk back. We stay at least once a week and have slept well on every occasion. The location... More

Chosen for location AS close to the hospital. Rooms were comfortable and equipped with kettle. En suite in room small but adequate, shower powerful and hot. Breakfast was very good with plenty of choice. Sitting room with TV available, useful for watching Wimbledon!

I can echo several other reviews about this property after our recent one night stay. It surely was a wonderful building at some point but is now definitely showing its age. The owners and the breakfast were very nice, and the location is convenient for the university. The garden in front is very well maintained and parking is available. We... More

Stayed recently with my wife, and first impressions as you drive up are very good. Very friendly owners and a good clean place, with an excellent breakfast. The rooms however are rather dated and the en-suite in the double room we had was the smallest we have ever seen and also very dated and showing its age.Overall a clean and... More

Thank you for your favourable comments featuring our clean friendly and excellent service which in the majority of reports is mentioned. Regarding the bathroom space it would have been possible to move you into another double en suite room on the particular night you stayed but disappointingly for us you have characterised the whole hotel based on one bathroom, there... I was very pleased with my choice when visiting my son in Sheffield. Very clean and good value for money. Best of all the owners were very friendly and helpful. Location perfect for visiting universities and also the Peak District within very easy reach. I would certainly stay here again.

I recently stayed at the Etruria house as a last minute from the USA. I was very pleasantly surprised. The rooms were lovely, the breakfast delghtfull & the owners so helpful & friendly! If in Sheefield, call them1 So much better than the impersonal chains!

First the positives- If visiting the university this is in an ideal location close to Broomhill and it's amenities, parking is a plus, if a little cramped on space. A friendly welcome and a good breakfast served promptly. And the negatives- this must have been a magnificent house at one time but sadly it is showing it's age and the... More

Thank you for your comments which we have taken on board. I am sorry you had "noisy experience" with us which unfortunately we can not legislate for guest behaviour - this could have happened in a Hilton / Express / Premier Inn. We have been here now for 23 years and generally we have had good reviews and accept with... More

I stayed at the Etruria recently and found it a haven of peace and quiet. It was great to find somewhere in the city which was well away from traffic noise. The room I had was adequate, although space in the shower and toilet was a bit limited. The lounge is impressive and quite relaxing. It was nice to find... More
