I travelled from Cumbria to attend a wedding on the 5th July, the couple had pre planned everything before hand and catered for family and friends to stay over and booked all the rooms in advance, Unfortunately they wasted there time, the whole experience of the day was appalling, warmed up food that had been pre -cooked,Chief was too busy... I live in the area and recommended the hotel to my friend. After eating locally we ended up in Jack's Bar. It was like walking into an empty nightclub - dark walls and ceiling, poorly lit. The drinks on offer were reduced to one draft lager and a few bottles in the fridge. We were then told at 10.30 pm... More

Attended a wedding here previously which was fabulous so decided to take visiting friends for an evening meal and what a disappointment it was. Our table was booked but waited nearly 40 minutes to finally be seated, menu very limited and could do with a couple of basic additions! Food was nice but not outstanding and prices above average, unfortunately... More

We had our wedding here on the 6th of June and it was amazing. The Beauchief worked well with us beforehand to make sure everything was sorted and the complete experience was absolutely amazing!!! Food was good, drink choices were great, and the venue couldn't have been more perfect. Rooms were also good as was breakfast. The Beauchief is one... More

Dropped in on Sunday with the kids after some exhausting water play at the park (them not me). I didn't fancy the carvery so we ordered from the Jack's bar menu. I had the fish cakes with buerre blanc for main, with carrot cake and coffee to finish. The kids are free making it probably cheaper to eat here than... More

We booked the Beauchief as a venue for my sons wedding and we were not disappointed. The staff were helpful, the food excellent and the all round experience memorable The room was set out and dressed beautifully, the ceremony was well organised and nothing was too much trouble. The food at the wedding breakfast was hot, tasty and filling. The... More

A reasonabley priced small hotel that was just where we wanted it. We stayed for 2 nights in May and took advantage of the great weather that weekend. We visited Snake Pass and then on our last day we went over the Cat & Fiddle and then to Bakewell. Our room was on the third floor (old fashioned steep stairs... More

We stopped over night on a DB&B which was actually a prize from a charity raffle. The food was nice but the service was slow and slightly disappointing for the standard you expect from such an establishment. To me little things matter so when we ordered a bottle of while and it was just dumped on the corner of the... More
