We hired a room for a family celebration in January. All had to be planned in secrecy and the staff were marvellous. They assisted in all aspects of the occasion and made valuable suggestions that made the evening the great success it was. The meal was excellent and staff in constant attendance making sure that everything we needed was provided.... More

On arrival we just managed to find a car parking space (several cars had taken up 2 spaces due to the awkward layout (later found out that there is a second parking area at the other side of the hotel.) Would recommend that a sign be erected to advise customers that there is another parking area. A bit of a... More

Very disappointed with the Rutland hotel, we booked double room but found only two tea bags on the hostess tray and one pack of biscuits and no spoon. The bathroom had a bad smell of drains, over head shower but no shower cap to keep your hair dry. Net curtains at window torn and dirty, the air con did not... More

First the good bits - the staff were a delight - very pleasamt group of people. the food was excellent - niceley served, and steaming hot. Sadly, there the compliments have to end. This hotel is a disaster for anyone with any kind of mobility problem. The dining room is down 14 steep steps. No lift anywhere - steps up and... More

It's very close to university, but otherwise I wouldn't recommend it. Very small room, the bathroom was ridiculous, no fridge or mini bar facility, the hair dryer didn't work...etc...and we were in an executive room. Not impressed!

Very friendly staff – happy to help. Lots of options for breakfast and again very friendly waiting staff. The single room was very small, i.e. the floor space was about the size of 3 single beds, but it had everything you need, e.g. desk, cupboard, with a clear and well functioning bathroom. Functional and fine.

There was excellent support for our conference event including wi-fi and projection facilities. The staff were friendly and helpful & the food and refreshments were excellent. I did not sleep there or try the fitness facilities. They did the biz! :)

We arranged our party to have a meal at the Rutland Hotel the evening was excellent. The whole evening was a delight and our wives enjoyed it so much we have been told to book it again later on in the year. Food excellent and the service we could not fault it would recommend this venue for an evening out... More

We stayed here for two nights because it is so convenient for the Royal Hallamshire Hospital. We were really impressed with the staff, every single one of them was welcoming, helpful and extremely friendly. The restaurant food was extremely good, portions were plentiful and we really enjoyed both dinners and breakfasts. Our room was roomy, comfortable and well equipped. The... More

I stayed at this hotel overnight as I had a conference there the next day in one of their meeting rooms, every member of staff I spoke to were exceptionally friendly and helpful; the food was delicious and the room was better than some 5* hotels I have stayed in. Our conference was in the Dovedale suite and the staff... More
