A very warm and comfortable one night stay with a superb breakfast. Excellent real ale and food which is reasonably priced. Very friendly hosts and locals. The lift over to the next village for the 30th we were attending was an unexpected gesture and much appreciated. Hope to return again, next time on the motorbike (there is safe secure parking... Stayed one night at the end of August while away in the Peak District. great little B and B with 3 rooms at the back of the pub. Rooms are compact but no expense has been spared ie power shower, organic teas, body shop lotions and shampoos and one of the best breakfasts I have ever had with fresh local... More

So glad that you enjoyed your night away. I really enjoy living on the doorstep to the peak district, just the right location to enjoy it from afar but easy to get too. More

My partner and I stayed for two nights (5 and 6 July). On arrival we were made very welcome by the Landlaord and staff. Our room was just behind the pub. It was clean and well laid out. All the soap and shampoo etc were from the Bodyshop which my partner told me is some of the best. The shower... More

We booked a meal at the Royal Hotel on Saturday evening as we on our way to Low Bradfield for a concert at the village hall (Bradfest 21 - 22 June 2013). Although only a small menu, the beef and oyster pie (with chips and peas) was excellent! Accompanied by the local Bradfield beer - a lovely meal in a... More

Stayed overnight at the Royal Hotel Dungworth. An unassuming country pub from the outside but set in beautiful surroundings, the motel-style room was extremely comfortable, modern and very clean. We enjoyed being woken (not too early in the morning) by the crowing cockerel, which wandewrs the grounds with his hens. The owners and staff were very friendly and helpful, the... More

Glad you dropped in paul. I agree the first impressions are quite plain but I hope the rest makes up for this. Will deffinatly try harder to make it more pleasing to the eye. The hens are not usually let out before 9am so I hope that this is not too early for everyone as I know how annoying cockerals... More

Stayed 2 nights here. Accommodation was clean and welcoming . Lovely views. Owners and all the staff were as helpful and friendly as could be as indeed were the pub locals. The food was simple and delicious freshly cooked and reasonably priced. We would happily return.

I thoroughly recommend the Royal Hotel Dungworth to anyone looking for hospitality and comfort for a business stay or holiday. I stayed in a variety of hotels, B&Bs, and other accommodation before finding this absolute gem. Where other places can be cold, noisy, ‘soulless’, (or just ‘too corporate’) the Royal Hotel delivers exactly what is needed in a ‘home from... More

Stayed 27/4/13 on visit to see my son. Usually stay in city centre but all booked due to Snooker/Boxing and found this hotel by accident. Only 6 miles from city centre. Set in beautiful countryside. The couple that run the pub are lovely, genuine people who couldn't do enough for us including providing very comfortable camp bed for my son... More
